Unless it's something that was *JUST* introduced to EQlive, there was never an Age of Darkness.

Age of Scale, Eldar Age, Age of Monuments, Age of Enlightenment, Age of Turmoil...

EQlive split off into the Age of War after EQ2 came out, while EQ2 went into a new age itself to reflect the Shattering and the Rending.

Norrath hasn't had an Age of Darkness. It's had:

The Age of ScaleThe Elder AgeThe Age of MonumentsThe Age of BloodThe Lost AgeThe Age of EnlightenmentThe Age of Turmoil -- Time of EQ1The Age of WarThe Age of CataclysmsThe Age of Destiny -- Time of EQ2

The EQRPG books created the Age of Legend as the current age the PnP game takes place in, but we omit that and carry the Age of Turmoil into the Age of War.

I am almost positive multiple times in EQoA's Lore they refer to the current period as the age of darkness.. now it was set roughly 500 years prior to EQlive and 1k years before EQ2

I think it was during at least one if not multiple of the epics there they talk of it, and possible in the whole Wegedas/Lycanthropy saga... eh some lorehound here should be able to confirm or shoot that theory down..

oh and if u get a sec Jin make a post confirming that EQoA existed... lol I hate when the nay-sayers constantly try to act as if it never happened.

Message Edited by Porkchop133 on 01-23-200605:47 PM

If they're talking about it as a kind of age of darkness, that may not be an actual title so much as a description - like the real life Dark Ages. Specifically, EQOA may take place in a time where records were lost so that in the time of EQL and EQ2, no one still knows a whole lot about what happened.

In the list, that might be what the Lost Age is.

Actually, EQ1 is currently on the cusp between the Age of Turmoil and the Age of War. I think the lore-ists over there pretty much agree though that we're fully in the Age of War now thouhg (as of the point when the Trolls reclaimed Grobb, and the Tutorial was revamped so that you are escaping and helping a resistance in the mines of Gloomingdeep)

Yeah EQlive entered the Age of War after Dragons of Norrath was released and they reintroduced Lanys T'Vyl as a story character who yet again wanted to conquer all of Norrath.

In response to EQOA's age:

It's during the Age of Enlightenment. Which can be determined in one of two ways:

Read: rise of the Erudites; i.e. enlightened humans

Humans establish permanent cities (or acquire in FP's case) and begin seeking answers for all of norrath's mysteries.

The Lost Age from what I can tell is either the time of the Combine Empire, of which just about all records are Lost, or the earliest age of humans following the vacuous collapse of the Rallosian Empire.

The Age of Blood approximates the rise, expansion, and fall of the first Rallosian Empire and the coming of the Barbarians.

I was about to point out that the Humans evolved from the Barbarians so it wouldn't make sense for the Lost age to come before the Age of Blood there.

Age of Darkness is a short age. usually lasts about half of a day.

Some refer to this time as Evening, or "Night".

Watch for the moon in the sky... it's a sure sign.

I guess you could consider it an age if you're an insomniac or a fruit-fly
