paladin lore question

Apparently for a time after the Shattering the world was devoid of magic except for the 'natural' powers that monks possessed then the Order decided to pass on this knowledge of using the inner strength (ki or however you wish to refer to it) to everyone, now the power that Paladins and Priest classes use is the same they just mold it a different way than other classes.</DIV>

<P>I agree with PhoenixEvo,</P> <P>The powers that priests, mages, and crusaders use are derived more from themselves and less from the gods, as they were in the past.  Explains why Lay Hands is so inferior to its EQ1 version, at least :smileywink:.  And I don't really think its accurate to say that the gods have simply gone silent, in EQ1 before EQ2 even came out, the gods "went silent" but they were still there and involved in the world.  Despite taking a step back in the world of Norrath, the mortal races continued to affront the gods and diminish their powers, that is why they held council and decide to "leave" altogether.  In EQ2 the gods have completely left, prayers aren't simply being unanswered they are not being recieved.  The very structure of the land has warped in their absence and everything has gone back to a primitive form.  The gods do still exist, but they no longer govern the realm of Norrath...perhaps there is a new world ripe for develpment that the gods are involved in, who knows.  Perhaps one day the Gods will return stronger and better able to handle the responsibilities of governing the races of Norrath.  As of now though, they aren't just silent...they are gone.</P>
