<DIV>I dunno exactly what areas are going to be introduced in the future, anyone with an EQ2 RPG manual can tell me what that map says but I for one would LOVE to return to The Rathe Mountains and Lake Rathetear.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I could only imagine a giant mountainous area in this game (since it lacks one right now, and Lavastorm dont count) with high peeks, snow capped mountains, some sort of foresty "western US" type typography and a giant lake at the northern edge of it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>We could see the return of Aviaks, include mountain giants and cloud giants (you know them dudes live up in the hills dont ya?) as well as various Rock Men, Cave Serpants, Minotaurs, etc. etc.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think that area would be ideal to explore again too <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And of course the other old continents as well those would be fun to explore now.</DIV>

If im not mistaken didnt some lore in the beginning stories talk about the rathe mountains being completely submerged under water ?

<DIV>Uhh...not that I recall, that is probably hearsay (plus that just sounds silly, the tallest mountains in Antonica are the only part that goes under water?)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Unless you find some official lore stating otherwise then don't believe that. People have also said Velious melted but I wouldnt bet 100% on that either since there is land underneath it anyway, trees dont grow out of pure ice and snow. </DIV>

Velious was once very much like Kunark. But, the Giants that lived there become overzealous and tried to invade the Plane of Earth. They failed, and the Rathe cursed Velious to become all ice. The rathe retreated from the mortal plane, and the curse has been liften. Voila, Velious melted (atleast the surface ice). <div></div>

<P>My favorite zones from EQ1 that I would like to see again are as follows:</P> <P>Emerald Jungle/Trak's Teeth - These jungles were just great to look at and admire. Aggro sucked sometimes, but I loved them for some reason.</P> <P>Waking Lands - Same reason as above. This zone was the best. I loved soloing there, and some of the mobs there could not be found anywhere else on Norrath</P> <P>Dagnor's Cauldron - Led to the fun Estate of Unrest.... Fun zone to walk around in (well, I did have Lev/Spirit of Eagle) and explore virtually risk free!</P> <P> </P>
Someone did a pretty convincing map showing that the first area of the current ferrot zone, where the dock is down to the cyran spawn, used to be part of the old rathe mountain zone. <div></div>

<DIV>Yeah but is part of Feerrott mountainous? But what I am saying is the land between Feerrott and South Karana, you know the actual mountains and Lake Rathetear.</DIV>

Just reading up on some lore here: </span>Before recorded time, Veeshan the great Crystalline Dragon marked Norrath by striking the continent of Velious with her foreclaw, and deposited her brood there to dwell. The legends of that time also tell that <b>Veeshan blasted Velious with her breath, encasing it in eternal ice</b> and creating a barrier of deadly ice flows and stormy weather. This marked the beginning of the Age of Scale. The Age of Scale lasted untold millennia. From the tidbits of information passed down, it is known that a group of dragons mastered magic and spellcasting during this era. Additionally, dragons of power and influence among their kind gathered together and formed a hereditary ruling council known as the Claws of Veeshan, who rule the dragons of Velious to this day. Few of Norraths inhabitants know more of this Age,and none that do would dare to speak. Was sure I remembered something about the Rathe cursing the giants (though cursing the ogres with stupidity is it). <div></div>

<DIV>The one zone that I would want to revisit more than any other, would be "Lower Guk" :smileyhappy:</DIV>

<P>I also really hope when/if Faydwer zones open back up that Unrest is still there.</P> <P>I can see an expansion called "The Shattered Remains of Faydwer" and having the "island" type giant zones called "Faydark" for the forest, with dungeons branching off like Crushbone and Felwithe and Mistmoore Castle.</P> <P>I can see the island that would make up Butcherblock, Unrest, Dagnor's Cauldron, etc. and one making up Steamfont, Ak'anon, The Loping Plains and the lake that resides near there (Wayunder Lake I think?)</P>
