So is soul ward broke? It says it is warding for 6233 regardless of what my HP are at. Anyone heard anything from the devs? <div></div>

It's broken as hell. Enjoy it because it'll be nerfed in the next update. They had to fix the +xx damage/healing mods first since everyone was abusing that. We're next though. What amuses me is that I've seen some mystics complain about it and betray over. I guess they haven't figured out it's a broken skill and getting changed in under a week.

So is soul ward suppose to take 90% of my health and make the ward on the target or does the target have to be down to 10% health? If the latter not gonna be very useful seeing as 10% health is about a split second.<div></div>

<P>It knocks you (the caster) down to 10% health. The number value is supposed to be 90% of your current amount of HP. But it's using a fixed value right now no matter how many HP you have. Also it is "group only" so not much use for raids if you're outside of the MT group. Would be a huge improvement if this was raid castable.</P> <P> </P>

I am going for this ward but may respec based on what I am reading here. The non-raid wide aspect of this ward makes the defiler in the MT group a "must have" once again. This was something I hoped we could move away from.

<P>In beta the bug was only the display in the spell description, not the actual amount it warded. The display would nearly always display 6230, but it was warding for the correct amount, 90% of my health. There were times with just logging in that it would display the correct amount, but I couldn't replicate it and it would quickly revert back to saying 6230. However this spell was bugged another way in beta (can't say about it now as I don't have it), in that it wasn't sacrificing any health, but was healing you instead.</P>

<DIV>It works well enough, from what I have seen. It dropped me to 10% as promised and the tank got a nice big ward out of the deal. I am very lucky nothing decided to swat me in that instant. So far I have used it twice on raids (secondary-tank group) and three times in experience groups versus nasty respawns in Mistmoore Castle.</DIV>
<DIV>Out of curiosity, how would you use Soul Ward in the MT group on a raid? Some of the raid mobs have some nasty AOE attacks that would squash me like a bug if I was down to 10% of my health after casting this. Strategy since I'm thinking about taking this line.......?</DIV>

<P>I don't have it yet (going down Hexation line first) but what I'm planning on doing is creating a macro for it so it will say in group chat "Using Soul Ward. My health will drop.. HEAL ME YOU BASTAGES!!!!" or something along those lines :smileywink:</P> <P>If you have a druid in your group, they can get you back up in no time.. just make sure you time the ward properly. (between AE's etc)</P>

can I get a bit of clarification on Soul Ward? Do I have to be at 100% to give up 90% OR Can I be at say 68% and give up 58% of my total health to 10%? tia, nub defiler <div></div>

AFAIK, it will drop you to only 10% no matter your current HP. The way it's "supposed" to work is up to 90% of your CURRENT HP.. meaning if you were at 50% health, it would drop you to 10% but only give you say a 3k ward because you were not full.. I don't think the number on the ward is working properly as it's a fixed amount no matter what your current HP value is.

<DIV>You must have at least 10% health or greater, according to the spell description. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I made use of this spell during one of our Lab runs, versus Vyemm. His crushing based AE hit, the druid in my group tossed up his healing tree pet, plus group regen. The combination of that and the cleric laying on his group heal got me to full health quickly, and I was able to use soul ward right before Energy Vortex hit the tank. It went smoothly enough, no death or anything like that, and it seemed to take pressure off of the other healers as they had more time to heal their groups (some groups only had 1 healer, so it took longer to recover from the crushing AE). I am not saying that the one spell is what won the fight, I am just saying I think it can come in handy in certain situations. We are successful with raids because of the team effort put forth, and the skills of those involved.</DIV><p>Message Edited by daeneriez on <span class=date_text>12-05-2006</span> <span class=time_text>07:24 PM</span>

You get your tank to do a 10 second count b4 pulling and pre ward him, in the folling 10 seconds heal yourself (ward last 1 min).. If you use this sometime during combat, cast it and ran back out of aoe range. I dont reccomend it though some raid mobs have zone wide aoe's/dots. Inform your raid group about the ward and how it works.. The tank has to beable to control the mob on the pull though.. Our abhorent shroud is making us more of a threat than his sometimes resisted taunts so he needs to dmg the mob and taunt it all on the body pull, in that order..</div>

It's usually fairly easy to tell when an AE hits, even if no one is calling the AEs.As for why it's broken (someone asked up there somewhere)... um.. because the ward is currently a fixed amount, instead of tied to your health lost.<div></div>

kinda confused, people saying mystics are betraying because soul ward is broken... insinuating that its over powered...surely a raid buffed defiler will have ~9000 HP, at the moment the fixed amount seems low comapred to what you should be warder for raid buffed...

The ward is NOT a fixed amount. If you had actually tested it, you would see that it is only the display that is bugged. It wards for the proper amount, just doesn't display that amount. The only bug as far as I am concerned is that it isn't raid castable.<div></div>

<div>So, what's the verdict? Is it "bugged as hell?"Or not broken at all?Conflicting reports here =D</div>
