<DIV><FONT color=#ffcc99>Just had a question to some of the other defilers out there. What do you use to keep your mana up on those long encounters? I mean, ok, usually I'm the only defiler raiding, so that means I'm the only one with the warding. When I have a tough encounter I find that I start running out of mana, well not quickly, but I would say a quicker than the other healers. </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffcc99></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffcc99>Yes we do have a dirge in most mt groups, but still..I find myself having to get fed mana from wizzies/illusi more times than I care to count....The only thing I can think of right now is to go for the gear with more FT...but I find that hard to find for defilers...or maybe I just haven't seen it yet.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffcc99></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffcc99>So, what do you all use to keep your mana flowing, but still being an effective warder, and throwing out our ubah debuffs? Or are there any tips that you can throw my way to help me out, or maybe you have just throught of something I haven't <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></FONT></DIV> <P>Message Edited by Marytaten on <SPAN class=date_text>11-16-2006</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>07:45 PM</SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by Marytaten on <span class=date_text>11-16-2006</span> <span class=time_text>07:47 PM</span>

<P>Doomseer Leggings</P> <P>Tribal Spiritists Hat</P> <P>Manastone</P> <P>Tribal Spiritists Hat is an incredible hat - best in game for defilers/mystics imo for the power bit. The leggings have slow recast, but great power. Manastone - is manastone. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Not counting any potions or group makeup in this.</P>
<DIV>I get canni off and keep it up from beginning of the fight, I get it up after pull and debuffs are stuck.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hearts and essence from your necro and conj hot barred for easy use. I start using those around 80% power or so (on the long encounters of course). That way you can reuse them a few times.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As much FT items as you can get, since you raid, I'm assuming you have godking etc. I have a ton of FT gear though so that helps.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am usually the healer w/ most mana at the end of long fights and parse 1st or second on the heal parses in the MT grp. Usually first, depends on how the fight is and the MT damage is - if its not too heavy, I don't over ward and take turns letting the templar and warden reactives/hots do a little work too.</DIV> <DIV>I'm also never w/out a dirge and/or coercer in the MT grp - and well that helps of course.</DIV>

Forced cani, manaston, necro hearts, conj shard, clarity potions, tribal hat....in that order. Try to stay 10-20% higher mana then the mob's hp youre fighting. So if its at 40%, you want your power in the 50-60 range. Its not essential to spam wards the whole fight unless its an encounter with spikey damage, like an orange con or something with lots of adds. Eventually you'll get a routine down and learn which spells to not spam a whole bunch during fights, and you can manage being the only shaman through an raid. Now when youre learning a new encounter, I can understand being out of power by mid fight. Also if youre not capped wisdom (you wont be now with eof out) pop a +66 wis grandmaster potion for that extra power for 30 minutes, its worth the 2-3 gold for the potion.<div></div>

Also you can use your hat and mana stone during a the stun heal. I am assuming your ussually in the mt group with at least one other healer, dont forget to let the other healer heal. Also make shure to farm a crystalized spirit before the encounter and give it to the tank. Then have a royal fit if he dies and doesnt use it. A heal you dont have to spend mana on is a good thing. <P>being a self-admitted FT [Removed for Content], my advice is "don't underestimate" FT. a 52pt bonus / tick to power is huge on a long fight. It's almost double what canni gives you per tick and it doesn't require any time or casting. It takes a while to build up a good collection of interchangeable FT gear, but once you do, it's well worth it and you can usually put on FT gear without sacrificing resists or HP.</P> <P>other have already covered the advised gear, things like manastone, spiritise censer and tribal hat are not overly hard to get.</P> <P>doomseer pants, vessel and signet are my "emergency" power items, they give a lot but have long recharges, so i tend to save them for special situations.</P> <P>i hardly ever use hearts/shards/potions. i carry them, but there just aren't fights when i need them.</P> <P>last thing... power pool doesn't matter. well it does, but not nearly as much as the regenning stuff. 2 minutes into the fight, it matter exactly 0 how much your MAX Power is. What matters is how fast you get it back when you use it up. </P>
<DIV>I know I already posted some comments but I have to say I totally agree w/ Arieste - flowing thought is one of the more valuable assets you have. Just balance your resists and FT items so that you don't end up having to heal yourself too =D Its also important to let other healers heal too, especially since your wards negate reactives/hots.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I don't even use manastone, personally. I rely on my FT/canni/ MT grp mana regen and hearts/shards. I only use the heart shards for encounters I know are long and only to ensure I don't run out of power. I consider them more of a back up or safety net.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Did anyone mention the importance of those slows we have? keeping both stacked as much as possible will help everyone's mana pool =D</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Canabalize is 26 power every 3 seconds white 52 FT is 52 ever 6 seconds. Basicly FT is prety useless for a defiler. If you keep Cana on and use your tribalist hat+manastone constantly its nearly impossible to run out of power (at least in raids where you heal and debuff and dont have to nuke). FT is oke, but tradeing FT for any halfway good gear is not recommended.<div></div>

Usually I'm ok with Heart+Shard+Manastone+Forced Cannibalize. If I notice I go down fast in power, well, Doomseer Leggings is my best friend <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

While canni is sufficient, max FT is still very valuable and is hardly useless. The more overall mana regen you can get for your healer(s) the better off the raid. Defilers not excluded - maxing FT is not useless.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/characters/character_profile.vm?characterId=115780106" target=_blank>http://eq2players.station.sony.com/characters/character_profile.vm?characterId=115780106</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Theres a sample of some of the FT gear you can wear, theres more in his inventory of much the same - but for different resists.</DIV>

<div>the ft cap is 1.5x your lvl aka 105 with a max of 52 from items with max aas and the correct choice a coercer gives 86.5 ft so it is relly nessicary to max that 52 ft since so much of it will be wasted assumeing most defilers are put in the mt group you normaly experience at least 1 regen if not 2 regen classes capping your ft with or with out items so i relly dont see the point what so ever of getting items beacuse of amazing ft aka the dt access with ft i chose the one with haste beacse its 10x better thats just my oppion</div>

<DIV>I don't tend to find power an issue except if I wind up having to spam wards (rarely necessary). I have manastone, Tribalists Hat, Doomseer Leggings, Godking weapon, plus a few other FT items, and Vessel of Fyrun. Cannibalise is AdIII and always on. Don't underestimate your debuffs....anything that reduces the mobs DPS and makes them easier to hit means you will have to do less healing/warding which uses more power. And also remember that your nuke and DOTs are also debuffs and are very power efficient. Same deal...the mobs hit less hard and go down faster means less warding/healing. Plus its always nice to not only come top in healing, but also beat all the other healers and sometimes the crusaders and bards too for DPS - and still have plenty of power left at the end <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
