<P>When I think of Shaman, I think of witch doctor. The bear helm was actually close to what a Shaman would wear. I wouldnt be suprized if the new class hat was animal related.</P> <P>Something tells me its gonna be a skull, maybe vulrich-ish with some feather decor. I recently got a relic hat, imagine my surprise when I found it looked just like the shared class hat obtained from the hat quest?  BoooO! :smileysad:  I am so happy they will be getting new look.  I think Defilers should have a Black-feathered hat with a skull face top :smileywink:  Now That would be wicked!!

I'm a defiler and I'm very disappointed.. I have a pet wolf, and I rp that he is my companion and best friend.Why the heck would I wear another wolf on my head if I love my pet??Seems like most defilers are disappointed with this..Really wish the devs listened to us, but I'm afraid they will be too busy to change ours because of all the other hats they have to make.But it would be a wonderful surprise if they listened.Seriously, is any defiler happy with this?

<div></div>Well I think the devs are sticking with a 'shamanistic witchdoctor' style theme with animal hats - I think they intend to change the druid hats FROM animals to something else more druidic since they have to use the bear hat at present. And leave us with the animalistic ritual style pnes.I personally have to say I did previously liked the black bear hat - just looking at my character he looked very shamanistic with his long evil looking staff on his back, his general armour and then the hat. The wolf one actually looks more detailed than the bear one and I am assuming that mystics will get a positive looking animal hat (or perhaps just the white bear har polished up). But then thats just me.. althought I DO admit that that skeletal hat from the pic above looks really look... but at the same time perhaps a little too necro stye. Am I disappointed in the new hat? Honestly yes - I dont think they worked too hard to turn the bear hat into a wolf hat.. just think something more imaginative coudl have been done because I was expecting something more different. tbh, its not that i dont like it as a hat.  its ok, i actually quite like the white version of the bear hat that drops in SoS.  what i dont like is that this is being fronted as a NEW hat made for DEFILERS.  Its an interesting variation on an existing hat that never fit our class to start with.  a.<div></div>

if our armor is made out of chain mail, why is our hat made of animal skin?  Why does it not match any of our armor colourwise? (and yes i see the tiny strip on top that is the same colour as relic, but cmon, the hat is grey-white, our armors are purple, bronze-green and red)disclaimer:  im part-colour blind so I'm by no means an expert here, but it certainly doesnt look like it matches.<div></div>

<div></div>Well I got the hat in game and I have to say it is very nicely detailed and does look rather cooler that I thought it would.. even if we had wished for something rather different. However the above point is rather valid - the mix of chain with animal 'skin' is  a little odd. I just find it very hard to see this 'affinity' for a defiler for his 'pet'. We 'steal' souls, wreak havoc with all sorts of pretty fearsome spells.. I suspect that the average defiler isnt going to go home and go 'aw how are you little doggy.. it was a good day for hunting wasnt it? Aww theres a good boy koochikoo'. In 'fact' the mystic pet is a spirit anyway and while ours may not be a spirit, I am pretty sure that fearsome looking thing isnt a normal 'wolf' by any stretch of the imagination - its some sort of tainted wolf spirit infused 'thing'. So wearing the head of a similar type of savage creature doesnt seem as far fetched. In fact it makes sense that you killed this wolf thing and enslaved its sprit and brought it back in this 'form' to serve you. I love the look of our chain armor, but then we get a leather hat that doesn't match at all.I had the new graphic turned on for ummm about 5 min before it got turned off again. Well at least SOE tried.
