<DIV>Hi all, obviously new to the Defiler class, but loving it so far. I will definitely be looking for guidance from the vets from time to time. My first question is about our delicious wards - If I cast the group ward, and the tank is the only one that gets hit, does the tank use up the entire ward? If so, it would seem that casting the group ward would be more efficient than the single target ward (and safer for the group as a whole)? Or am I way off base here.....</DIV>

<P>I guess it depends on how hard the encounters are that you're fighting.. Yes.. Group ward will be totally used up by one person if they're getting hit.. the only problem with ONLY using group ward is that if a squishy takes aggro, they will use up that ward in about 1-2 hits, leaving your tank unprotected..</P> <P>I usually stack both wards, especially if I'm the only healer in the group and we're doing tough encounters.. This gives me lots of time to debuff, and once one ward falls, you can re-cast it with the other still in place..</P> <P>If you're grouping with another healer, then I usually just use my single ward as it's faster casting, and I let the other healer take care of actually healing stuff..</P> <P>I guess it really depends on what you're fighting, and how easy you find the healing to be.</P>

<DIV>In groups, I usually single ward the tank on pull.....if it's nasty encounter, I'll cast the group ward as well at pull, but timed so it hits a second after tank gets aggro, especially on multi-mob encounters. Otherwise, you risk getting aggro.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Most of the time in groups you'll single ward only. If there's a difficult instance your doing where ae is involved, then group ward is nice.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When I do use group ward, I'm usually raiding and in a situation where I need to help protect the MT group from AE and give the other healers a chance to get the group up in the green.</DIV>

I never use the group ward alone. If my MT can deal with only solo wards, I do only solo wards, else before the pull I cast solo and group just after, and I recast the solo ward when the first is gone. After that I have some time to debuff the mob before my second solo ward is gone.
