I'm kinda new to the boards so this subject has probably been already discussed to exhaustion.. but I was wondering why Defiler countenance spells don't look different and if there are any plans to change this. That's kinda of silly that every necro and conj pet and every tranformational form can look different but countenances can't.

you get some fun spells like rat and spirit hawk. i wouldnt hold your breath on any Countenance change after they changed it 3 times already.Version 1 had a fear proc on it, mitigation and power if i remember right and a ghostly human male smoldering visualVersion 2 had no HP regen and we went to the Purple Cloud powerVersion 3 current version added HP regen

Unfortunately the heal amount is trivial so this is a semi-junk spell. The purple fart form is just fluff... if this spell would give me a small aggro reducer or something else of practical value I might be more impressed. This last weekend someone offered me the t7 master version for 7 plat. I told him I'd maybe pay 2 plat just to have it, but the heal per tick amount was not much higher than the old t6 adept3 version I've been using. This spell line, the single target fear line, and the Avenger lines are either of minor/limited use or altogether useless. Happily most of our other spells are smokin' :smileyhappy:

I disagree that its irrelevant

Lets think of it this way

In combat 54 hp per second (Sinister (Second Form) Master II)

in 30 seconds, thats 1500 health

That saves you a lot of power and effort

its not per second tho, its per tick, not sure on how often we tick, but i think its like 5-10 secs or something like that

but its still a solid spell considering how much our spells cost hp wise, but its a minimal upgrade from ad3 to m1 (i still bought it but im obsessive like that)

Message Edited by wmmdcis on 05-15-2006 06:58 AM

An Everquest Tick.. is 6 seconds..

Now SOE has kinda muffed this around a lot.. but usually if it's anything other than every 6 seconds.. it will be listed in the spell description.. IE.. Regenerates health instantly and every X seconds (for a regen heal)..

if you don't use heals this is basically a +104 in combat health regen, hard to snub my nose at that.

IMHO, it's just an opposing factor to our heals costing health. I'd rather have a stat boost similar to the druid classes. Well, would rather have almost anything else for a buff. I've never seen it as a benefit considering I can heal myself faster and ward myself better that it's practically negligible that I have an in-combat regen. If I'm in a situation where I am on the edge of dying, I typically die because if something can get me that close to death, it can surely get me the rest of the way without much effort. It regens every 6 seconds, same as our continuous ward refreshing every 6 seconds.

come on, why wouldnt anyone want 2 "see invis" spells!

I don't go out without my countenance spell on. Not only has the "see invisiblity" factor been incredibly useful for spotting scouts and stealthed players in PvP, but the in-combat health regen has helped me survive more then a few fights. And I just hide the purple cloud form so other players don't think I have it on.
