<DIV>I play on Venekor (PvP RP) server, and its my only char</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Level 36 Defiler.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My main question is, does Spirit of the Wolf stack with a horse?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I noticed it doesn't stack with sprint (ie. Sprint+SoW = 40% still)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But, with for instance a horse with a 24% buff, would this give me 44% or 24?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If its 24, its barely worth the change, which is a ridiculous disadvantage for the defiler.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Secondly...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've for a long time never really been using any power regens, except milk (9 min, 15 per second (6c)) as its so cheap, and i've never ever found my regen particularly annoyingly slow.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On the other hand, what is the cheapest way of doing it..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My choices are really, buying some actually decent drinks off the market, (which IMO the prices are very high on Venekor) or using totems (an idea i've toyed with for a while) for instance Totem of the bat gives a 48 regen, and is much cheaper to find than drinks. When used WITH milk, thats 63 regen.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But on the other hand, do you guys really need it? its pretty fast anyway, and as long as you use your power fairly sparringly i find that drinks go to waste.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At my level, what kinda regen do i need? how much should i expect to be spending?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thirdly!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What type of weapon is best for me when i get to level 40?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Crushing/Piercing?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Imbued/Not?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1h/2h?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At the moment i've got a disease imbued oak wand, which is really good ImO, should i just go for the same thing in a cedar form? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, what should i have for the tother hand if not 2 handed weapon</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>THANKS IN ADVANCE <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV><p>Message Edited by Xaor on <span class=date_text>04-22-2006</span> <span class=time_text>06:59 PM</span>

Some anwsers: a) SoW does not stack with anything. Once it stacked with one of the bard speed buffs bot it doesn*t anylonger. b) The power regen from drinks / totems are only <u>out of combat </u>regen. If you (or your group mates) feel your downtime between fights is to long then use drinks / totems. I havn't use drinks / totems for a very long time. Manastone / vessel / forced cannibalisation and some other flowing thought-items are enough to keep my mana up. c) I always try to keep both skills maxed. You never know what nice weapon you might get later. To be hornest there arn't many good spears for a defiler.  It's much easier to find a club / hammer. And if you should go with 1hand weapon + buckler / symbol or with 2hand weapon depends on the situation. Usualy 1hand + buckler / symbol will grant you better stats / defense. Using a 2hand weapon will do more melee DPS. And some AP-skills require to use some special equipment. for example the 2nd skill in the wisdom line requires a symbole in your secondary slot. If you want to use this skill without swaping your gear everytime then you have to stick with a 1hand weapon and a symbol. For imbuing: If I buy a crafted weapon or BP I always imbue the item. I never imbue pants / shields: I hate to auto turn on combat mode because the procs fires while training some green mobs. Sure, I could switch equipment. But I'm to lazy to do so and the DPS from these procs are to small for the hazzle. <div></div>

<DIV>I bought a 1hs at 40 because I thought I would go down the Str AA line first but I went Wis first. I then did the Screaming Mace HQ and plan on keeping this weapon till 60. It has an amazing process for priests with decrease in arggo and increase in power. Not sure how easy the quest would be to do on a PvP server though as it takes some time camping stuff in CT.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Manitou</DIV> <DIV>49 Defiler</DIV> <DIV>Butcherblock</DIV>

On the subject of drinks I found that pre-Lvl 30 you can safely get by with shop bought drinks, but after Lvl 30 you really start to notice the regen time for power, especially when in groups.  By then you have a big power pool to replenish and Manastone and bat totems just 'don't cut the mustard' as you level up.  You will need some decent drinks from this point on and hand crafted drinks are far superior to shop bought stuff.  Perhaps if you haven't already started a crafting profession you may wish to consider starting to be a Provisioner.  Levelling a Prov is a doddle up to Lvl 30 - I took one to Lvl 20 in one day, and was up to Lvl 30+ by the end of the week.  Getting from Lvl 30-40 is a bit trickier and you need lots and lots of honey and apples from EL or Zek in order to make a stack of decent drinks that each give over 5 hours of use.  But the effort is worth it in the long run, not to mention the money you can make by selling of fthe surplus that you make.

<P>On the subject of Run-speed buffs.. the only effects that I know stack together are SoW, and JBoots.. everything else will just take the higher of the 2.</P> <P>When doing a naggy run, or some other indoor traveling and I don't have a bard, I will put on my old grey JBoots and SoW to save some time.</P>
