<DIV>With screen real estate so limited and so many spells available to us - I feel like I should be able to have more "vision". Can anyone give me an idea of how to set up my hotbars and screen?  Maybe post some screenshots.  I have all my wards doubled as in I have current tier and last tier incase of low power occassions I may be able to get another ward off that doesn't cost as much pwr. I also have my group memeber names at the bottom of the screen so they are closer to my hotbars to cut down on movement on the screen for faster healing. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks.</DIV>

Motu has a good point. I also use the F1-F6 keys for targetting group members. This allows you to keep your group members listed at the top of the screen and save real estate on the lower part of the screen for hotbars. It also helps if you have a comp and monitor that can handle a higher resolution like 1280x1024. I'm at work so I can't post a screenie. I like to keep similar spells next to each other on the same hotbar. For example I have all my cures next to each other, all my wards next to each other etc etc. This is my personal preference, but just try different settings until you find one you like. I happen to use the Fetish Nightfall theme. It has a much cleaner look than the default UI. Profit is also good, im just use to Fetish. Again, personal preference, not right or wrong either way. <div></div>

i dropped the Quest log window.I'm kinda of a keyboard player so hitting "J" is fastI got 5 hotbar windows in display.  When I'm raiding, I have so many windows up I swear that it gives the feeling of having a real helmet on 8-p<div></div>

<P>I have 7 hotbars up at all times.. I'll post a pic when i get a chance..</P> <P>4 are spells / frequently used macros etc..</P> <P>2 are gear (1 for raid set, one for swapping items i swap all the time)</P> <P>1 is for Activatables.. Necro hearts / conj shards / manastone / potions / Pet AA's etc..</P> <P>I just use the default UI, and I've scaled the buttons down on three of the hotbars.. I mainly play with the keyboard so I have the frequently used stuff on the outside of the middle hotbars.. 1-4, and 9 - = being the main stuff I cast.. with the infrequent crap in the middle..</P> <P> </P>

7 hotbars here - 2 are set semi transparent to allow me to see through them.<a href="http://www.eternal-chaos.org/phpBB2/album_pic.php?pic_id=203" target=_blank>Screenshot</a>(just ignore the huge defile description taking up most of the screen, imo a waste of space)<div></div>

<P>I have 5 hotbars with almost one full made of macros...  I find that having a key casting 2 spells improves my efficiency on raids at times... and other times rolls hos quicker.</P> <P>For UIs, I use Nightfall from eq2interface.com.  I like it since we can cure anything by just clicking on the picture under the toons name... makes casting cures much more efficient (and you can remove those cures from your toolbar).</P>

Just FYI, recent versions of ProfitUI (not the one in the screenshot above) have the one-click cure functionality as well. It's really helpful, not only because you free up a toolbar, but also because you don't have to first select the person you want to cure.

It's Profit, with the top panels across the top brought down so it's on top of the bottom panels. And it's 1600x1200. <div></div>

have you noticed a better FPS with a custom UI than the default SOE one?<div></div>

I;ve been using custom since before DoF... so I don't really know.  Is that why so many people play with the default UI?  because it's faster? <div></div>

actually, i've been hearing that the default UI was slower.  i was hoping to bump up my framerate as the game is so much better visually at Balanced<div></div>
