<div>Hello all!</div><div> </div><div>My husband and I have been playing EQ 2 for a couple of months now and we are loving the game but, do to real world issues our normal playing partners are unable to continue to group w/ us on a regular basis (weekends is going to be the best option). Since that is the case, we were looking to roll some alts for duoing, just he and I. I am looking to create a defiler and he a berserker or bruiser.</div><div> </div><div>Which would be a better duo? The defiler/berserker or the defiler/bruiser?</div><div> </div><div>And which is your prefered tank to duo with?</div><div> </div><div>Thank you for your replys.</div><div> </div><div> </div>

<div></div><p>I've had good experiences with both. The only problem with bruiser is they are weaker holding aggro vs grouped encounters and thus require more effort and skill to get the same effect as a berserker. I'd say go with whichever is the most fun and go from there. Experiment for 10-15 levels of each class to get a better feel and then your decision will have some real merit.</p><p>Monk have better dps than berserkerberserker holds aggro better vs grouped.</p><p>As a defiler you have the AE Fear that is a godsend if you ever steal aggro or the group gets too many adds. You can single handedly save the group by giving everyone a running start, or a scout time to cast excape.</p>

<div></div>defiler/warlok was good in DoF, now its defiler/necro, but from berserker and bruiser I d choose bruiser since things might change but light armored tank should keep dps higher then heavy and dps is something to look at and anyway defiler work much better against single encounters since ww do no have grp debuffs

<div></div><p>I've duoed a defiler and a bruiser thru 36 levels now. Quite an entertaining combo. Really happy with the bruiser - but monk's group feign you may find have a better utility. Between the defiler's fear, the bruiser's fear, and the bruiser's mezz (not to mention the stuns/knockdowns), you can keep any single (and many group) encounters out of combat until they're dead <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.</p><p>Good luck with your decision. I'd make the same decision again in a heartbeat.</p>

<div>Bouth bruiser and zerker is great for duoing, who is best for me depends on how much dps he can put out, they bouth have great dps potential and the more skilled player will do the more dps, i would say go with what he likes to play. And always always have him in offensive stance and never a shield.</div>

<div></div><p>A ton of my early grouping was duo with me as a Bruiser and a Defiler buddy. Had a ball. Honestly though we did better when I played my Brigand with his Defiler. The Brigand DPS and utility (group sneak, evac, debuffs) were just the bomb with a Defiler partner. That's my 2cp.</p><p> </p>

I box my 70 defiler w/ a 70 brigand - loads of fun. Don't know how I ever only played the defiler - ok exaggeration, but the brig is a whole lot of fun and makes things so much easier w/ the defiler. Somehow I thought the OP was looking for a tank/healer combo - if thats not the case, a brig/def combo is pretty cool too.</div>

I duo with an SK and our debuffs rock together. A spell that is normally 30 / tic, lands for 45 / tic in the 20s that is.<div></div>

<div></div>Any duo combat with a fighter/mage can work well from what ppl have said in previous posts.I duo'd up with a Zerker and it worked out great.Scouts would be more difficult to duo and I wouldnt recommend it.Noxious based classes (SK, Necro, Warlock) debuffs stack together so you both up your damage about 20% if you pick one of these classes.Utility features (evac, FD, grp sneak, invis) are VERY helpful to a duo combo which is something me and my Zerker buddy regret we dont have sometimes.<div></div><p>Message Edited by sostrows on <span class=date_text>04-11-2006</span> <span class=time_text>11:23 AM</span>
