<div> Normally I play the tank. That being said my friend descided she wanted to play the SK and I said well, perhaps I will give the Defiler a shot. Here are my questions. Forgive me if they sound simple to you folks.</div><div> </div><div>1. Which are the most important stats for a Defiler?</div><div>2. Which stat will increase my mana pool?</div><div>3. Which stat will increase my chances of getting off critical heals?</div><div>4. On the healing tree, how do we, the Defilers, stack up against the other healing classes.</div><div> Note, I dont play on the red servers so this is strictly PVE.</div><div> Thankyou for the info, I will check in periodicaly and hope to build my Defiler up by starting out on the right track.</div><div> </div><div>5. People talk up furys, but the last group I was in the fury asked me to MH so she could DPS. I was the lowest level player in the party by about 6 levels too and I had no problems at all. Personally, I think we pull out slightly ahead because of our wards and very good debuffs.</font></div><div> Note, I dont play on the red servers so this is strictly PVE.</div><div> Thankyou for the info, I will check in periodicaly and hope to build my Defiler up by starting out on the right track.</div><div> </div><div>5. That way more of my hit gets through mitigation and there are fewer reposts to deal with. Ultimately, what AS tree you choose will have a greater affect on what weapon mix you prefer so the difference is mainly a matter of preference.</font></div><hr></blockquote>

<div></div>Thanks for the input I really appreciate it. Now that Ive cornered the Wis market, which other stats are best to have. Im guessing stamina would be appropriate for when I get aggro from healing and such, and then perhaps strength.

Personally I tend to go sta/int/power/HP in no particular order. I'm still about 700-1000 points stronger in HP than mana, but I rarely run out of mana so I'm not worrying about it much. My mana problems went away when I stopped debuffing mobs that were below 25% health and started being more selective about which debuffs I use instead of spamming them all on every mob. Well, non-raid mobs anyway.

<div></div><div>Thanks for starting this thread, I too am in a similar situation. My main is a conjurer but I'm loving playing a defiler. Its gives the game a whole new angle for me. Also there are a heck of a lot of cheap defiler masters on the broker.</div><div> </div><div>Now, which AA route should I go down.............................</div><div> </div><p>Message Edited by Jabbso on <span class="date_text">03-29-2006</span><span class="time_text">10:53 AM</span></p>

Regarding secondary stats, its more a play style. WIS and STA are popular choices as our direct heals cost health. Having as much health as you can is something many of us prefer, especially for raiding when we tend to direct heal more often and have to worry about AOE damage. Normal grouping, I like to melee and get up close to mobs (just my play style). Still, I prefer STA over STR or AGI as health is more important to me. Other stats to focus on w/ gear are mitigation and resists. Mobs will find you and they will hit you, so these stats are important when you make armor selections.</p><p>We all have to make our own decisions on AA's, not having had AA's growing up - I can't speak to practical benefits with real world experience. You'll have to evaluate how you like to play, what you like killing and whom you like grouping with to pick the best AA for you. I've recently rerolled my AA's based off my raid group orientation. Many of us are still feeling out the AA's. I haven't maxed mine yet so I don't feel comfy speaking to pro's/con's of each. I have switched from haste to magic resists and hope to acquire immunities as well.</p><p>Good luck and welcome to the fun of being a defiler.</p>

I prefer agi and int over sta. I use ward exclusively when soloing and grouping. Seldom use the healing spells in the group and only 1-2 times the healing spell that cost health. With agi I get higher chance at avoiding the hit and with higher int, the dot spells will do higher damage and crit for more. <div></div>

<div></div>I wouldn't even worry about agi. If your going to duo, I would say go for wis, int, then sta.<div></div><p>Message Edited by masoninc61 on <span class="date_text">03-29-2006</span><span class="time_text">08:22 PM</span></p>

<div></div><p>Wis is def top of the list -</p><p>And as everyone else has said - it is all about play style - I found I started with agi and str because I was soloing a lot at first - but now that I have "grown up" I really am trying to max my sta - don't melee much since I stand back and heal ( most of my groupies at 5 lvls higher so I don't want in on those hits :robotsurprised: hehe ), but if I do get hit, I want some extra umpf - The other stat I am trying to go with is int - that is as one had stated to get my dots and debuffs to hit a little harder when I can throw in an occassional damage spell. I stated in another thread that I make it my top priority to have heals at Adept 3 and I suggest the same with you. Master 2's choices have been wards for me also. I understand why peeps do chose the dots as M2, but again that is play style.</p><p>At any rate - as you "grow up" you will define your play style. Mine has changed over the "years" and I have found one that works for me at this time.</p><p>WELCOME TO THE DEFILER FAMILY. :smileyvery-happy:</p>
