<div>Does anyone know the Resist responsible for resisting debuffs?  Is it always Magic resist or does it vary from spell to spell?</div>

<div>Defiler debuffs are mainly disease based, so resist checks are done against disease.  Bane of Shielding is one that is heat based, however, so it's checks are done against heat resists.  Easiest way to tell is to look at the message when a mob resists a debuff.  Usually says something to the effect "You try to disease Mob with Degenerate, but it resists." </div>

<div></div><p>What the above poster said <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>Bottom line is fewer of your debuffs will be resisted if you start with your dis debuff.  Also really helps when a dirge is landing their better dis debuff first thing, or a SK is using his group taunt, which is also a dis debuff.</p>

Awesome thanks.Time to set up some windows to filter the combat spam a bit I think <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />--Nadir, Defiler of Splitpaw

I'm looking there anyway to verify my wards and debuffs are up.  If I cast a spell and i don't see the icon in my maintained window, then I automatically know it got resisted.  I used to look at the mob's target window, but there is too much other stuff there to pick your own stuff out sometimes.</div><div> </div><div>BTW everybody, there is a new group UI made by Fetish that seriously owns.  When someone in your group gets dotted just click on the dot icon and it autocasts your highest level cure.  Since all my cures are on my secondary bar, this saves my thumbs and keeps me from having to look away from the group window.  I just click on the icon and then immediatly hit F-whatever-the-tank-is.</div>

Not because it's better or more efficient but because once you have auto cures and mods which auto cancel heal spells when the target is above a certain % etc. then the actual fun and skill seems non existent for me.Youe post is a wake up call to me. The first time you fight a mob that is Immune to disease, it will be obvious.I like leading with Infestation (DOT + WIS debuff) as it's a fast cast in case it gets resisted and then follow up with Stat resists. If I got time/mana, I will use Aphotic/Imprecation for noxious debuffs.<div></div>

No mobs should be outright immune to any form of magic or melee anymore, that was changed not too long ago. Some are still highly resistant though, and sometimes it's a chore just to get the disease debuffs themselves on. Dirge, Mystic and Defiler debuffs are almost all disease based, with a few exceptions.<div></div>

<div></div>How often are you spells getting resisted?  Anything yellow or below its a shock when something gets resisted since it happens so infrequently.   On oranges its another matter but I would expect that.

if im not MT grp, sometimes we kinda have a debuff grp.  this focuses around the Warlock's ability to boost all your skills.  was on a raid and got resisted 1/300 spells maybe on yellow/oranges with a warlock in the grp.  i was about +48 ordination with gear and warlock.<div></div>

<div><span><blockquote><hr>MrPhilPhil wrote:<div></div>Actually, I am the OP and I am a Dirge.  No one seemed to for sure over there so I thought id ask here.  Thanks.<hr></blockquote>Dirges, SKs, Defilers, Mystics, and ummmmmm, who am I forgetting, all primarily use disease based spells.  These classes work great together in the same groups and raids because of this commonality.  IMO, the Dirge's debuff, Verlien's is best, and if the Dirge is on top of things and casts this at the beginning of every fight, the other classes get far fewer resists and are able to damage for much more.  The problem with the SK and Defiler disease debuffs is that it is not always best for these classes to use them.  The SK disease debuff is included in a full encounter taunt.  The Defiler debuff is included in a full encounter dot.  The Dirge debuff includes a snare, and is always best to use because it does not taunt mobs away from a tank or prevent an encounter from being mezzed.</span></div>
