<div>Is the group ward a pool of points that can be used by anyone in the group or is it worth (say 500) on each person in the group.</div><div> </div><div>Example.</div><div> </div><div>1.  I cast group ward, each person in group can now absorb 500 dmg.</div><div> </div><div>or</div><div> </div><div>2. I cast group ward, the people in the group can absorb a total of 500 dmg, either 1 person takes 500dmg or 2 people take 250.</div><div> </div><div>Can someone shed some light on this for me?</div><div>Thanks.</div><div> </div>

<div></div>Option 1 would be a great idea for a level 65 spell to balance us out with the Mystics. <span>:smileywink:</span>But to answer your question, a group ward that wards for 500Hps is split by all in the group who take damage.  If the group were exposed to a 100 point AOE blast, the ward would absorb against the 1st 500 points of damage across all members.  The nice thing about the group ward is that when cast and ONLY the MT is taking damage, it is all directed to him.  You can get in a nice rotation of group warding and single warding, where you are trying to optimize the timer of each so that you always have a ward up on the MT.  You will find a lot of the time that if you throw both up in succession, the timer's will expire before the wards actually absorb the full capacity of damage.<p>Message Edited by JoePa on <span class="date_text">03-02-2006</span><span class="time_text">10:28 AM</span></p>

<div></div><p>Awesome, Thank you :smileyhappy:</p><p> </p><p>That leads me to another question. How do wards stack, say I cast single ward on MT then group ward. Does single ward take dmg untill its worn out then the group ward starts taking the dmg?</p>

<div><span>I'm not sure the order, but I've read post about it long time ago, and I think it was said that the last one casted that takes the first dmg, (due to ward buffs and such) so u can cast, group, single, insta single, insta group and u get pretty descent ward. Just be causios tho, cause if u do that prepull and the tanks taunt is resisted u'll end up with some major agro problems <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></span></div>

I can say that in my experiance, that the 1st ward cast is the 1st one depleted.  If you cast a single ward and then a group ward, watch your maintained spell window, the 1st to drop will be the single ward.  Now if you recast your single ward before expiration, it will then drop below the Group ward in priority, this can be a good tactic when your group ward gets near 1/2 way expired, so that you do not let it go to waste. Now, what I am unclear on, is how wards such as the "Bane" line and Spiritual Circle work as I typically dont watch to see when they land and how they are depleted.  They do help buffer the others during tough pulls. Are you playing your Defiler on the PvP server?  How has your experiance been?  I started one and got to level 12 before being camped pretty hard in both CL and the Ruins.  Definitly did not feel like I had the tools to defend myself against higher level players.  Hopefully that will be addressed tonight by today's patch.  I imagine that once you get in the high 20s, and roaming with a good crew things look up?

Yes I am on the pvp server. So far I like it, 1v1 I have trouble killing peple becaseu I dont really have a way to kill them quickly, however with my wards I can get away so its not to bad.  If I get jumped by a group, well, no class can take that.As for with a group of people, its fun, wards reduce the number of interupts and so far seem pretty effective in a group fight.<div></div>
