Hello people,I have recently just started EQ2 and have a level 13 troll defiler. I have basically been running all over Freeport doing quests and now its time I went out into the ruins and the commonlands to explore. I have all the spells that you get when you level, all at apprentice I or whatever they start at. Equipement is just what I have picked up from various quests on the newbie island and in Freeport.Just looking for some advice, should I go after better copies of my spells? and how do you get them. Also how should I look at upgrading my equipement, and good quests I should look out for or is there a type of crafted gear I should look to buy?I have messed with tradecraft, I am level 10 and have chosen Outfitter, basically I have been making elm chests for the bank slots, and all the combines needed to produce the bits.Anyways hello to the community from a still Confused TrollKrankelSplitpaw

Message Edited by Krankel on 02-23-200604:07 AM

You definitely want new spells. There's a discussion of how they work and where to get them here: http://www.eq2daily.com/discuss/viewtopic.php?t=731 And keep an eye on EQ2-daily.com anyway. Those guys know their onions and are generally good blokes IMHO.As for armor there are generally two ways to go: mitigation or wisdom buffs. If you are soloing, I'd aim for the Mit stuff - you're going to need to avoid getting hit and you can wait for your power to recharge before your next pull. WIS buffs will improve your staying power in a group, so they won't have to wait for you to recharge. You really want it at a level where the tank can pull continuously and you can keep him almost permanently warded. If you can afford it, consider keeping a set of armor around for each job. Might be a good idea to have a range of different resistances on it too.

Once you can afford it, buy a "hex doll" or two from the broker. It goes in your charm slot and can buff your WIS. (And it has a pretty poor debuff spell on it too.) And see if you can find some food that improves your WIS too. The Cap is, I think, original wis plus (current level times 7), so even at level 14 you could buff your WIS well over 100.Weapon wise, there are no right or wrong answers. Choose what looks good, hurts mobs and gives good buffs. Theres a world of choice.Don't be too cautious. There's a lot of fun to be had in the commonlands at level 14. You can pick up an armor quest at 20 and you could have a go at starting the Return of the Light heritage quest. Big game slaughtering, quested or not, is pretty good xp.Good luck and before anyone else says it - you can probably find a lot of this stuff on the forums elsewhere if you look hard enough!
