View Full Version : Defiler Debuffs Stack with Dirge?

I'm leveling a Defiler for raiding and was curious about how the debuffs stack with others like Dirge and Mystic.

For example, if Defiler uses a 20% attack speed debuff, and Dirge has a 25% attack speed debuff, would they stack? Can't remember if this is correct, but I'm certain Mystic has either an attack speed or dps debuff of around 20% as well.

Or, is it that if 3 different classes have a spell with a similar effect (e.g., decrease attack speed), the class with the highest % decrease is the only one that is effective?

Thanks.

The general rule for all debuffs is that everything stacks with eachother but nothing stacks with itself. ie the defiler debuff degeneration wil stack with any other debuff but not with another defilers degeneration spell or a spell from that line. There is a cap on how much different things can be debuffed tho that you cant go over.

Good, that makes sense. A 25% dirge attack slow plus defiler attack slow would be awesome, not to mention the other stuff.

They dont

Yes they DO stack. Just remember that slow and DPS debuffs are capped... you cannot slow a mob for 100% =) The cap is about 70%, as far as I can remember.Shamaxaon60 Defiler of XanaduRunnyeye Server

Message Edited by maxa0n on 02-14-200601:47 AM

This has always interested me... Many classes have slows of some sort, either procs or direct cast. Brigands also have attack slows that are far higher than ours, somewhere in the 60-70 percentile (have to check my brig's adept 3 when i get home).

If there is a cap (which are tough to validate) then it would seem wise to create a slow chain of sorts, making sure ppl weren't landing slows that slow over cap at the same time. Instead, taking turns slowing while timers refresh.

I'd love to hear feedback from some other raiders how this is done or if it's worth doing - assuming there is a slow cap. Any feedback would be appreciated.

They do stack. A 54 Dirge can tank 57^^^ easily with almost no healing once both slows are stacked on.

The brigand attack speed slow is from the quick strike line (shrouded blade is 57 T6 version) which does at master 1 25% attack speed slow. That is the only attack speed slow we have. It's nice, and it's a .5 cast so I try to land it a millisecond after the MT has landed a hit on the mob at a raid. But it's not 63 % that's the "slow" which is a snare, not an attack speed decrease. "Slows target" in EQ2 always means snare.

As for the cap, I thought I read a dev describing it as 50% max. However, I _know_ it's slower than that, or I should say I know the slow attack speed poison goes further than that. A mob with defiler, brig, dirge slows in will be slow, but land that horrendous atrophy and the mob starts taking an afk between swings. Perhaps it goes up to 100% slow? (ie delay x 2 ) If I wasn't lazy I'd check eqcompanion and find out

They do stack up as does our slows and Mystics slow The End ..... Unholy lvl 60 Defiler of Everfrost

Thanks Aralys, I was referring to Ensnarl... Which after closer review is a "slow" as you stated. I misunderstood the spell as it says:

Ensnarl - Master 1

Slows target for 79%

Casts snare on termination. Lasts for 24 seconds

Slows target by 66%

Because of the way it was written it looked like it may have been an attack slow - guess i was wishfull thinking Suppose there are no issues keeping our attack slows up as often as possible. Be nice if we could see stats on mob slows realtime (like we can now see our haste), although it would be difficult to reflect it in the UI. Maybe some logging would help...

Or should I just simply say, stacking is good, no need to worry about slow caps or slow chains.

Message Edited by Raffta on 02-15-200601:10 PM

yah. brigand attack speed slow caps at 25% atm. who knows in the future...and i think the cap is much higher than 50% on slows too.if snare is any indicator then can probably slow near 90%maybe it's only 50% on stats and mitigation?(seeing as after all debuffs land and hitting dispatch i've had a skill that maxes out at 1000 hit for as much as 1500)in which case i don't think my defiler will stop using loathing master anytime soon.
