Have you seen more defilers lately?

<div></div>I think so. There are quite a lot of active Defilers hanging out on Splitpaw. Not sure why though - especially with the complaints about the new "Defile" spell.

<div>Splitpaw definitely has more low level defilers now, I think the main reason is after LU13 it took a while before people realised shamans were decent again. Also, its possible I guess that some people canned their defiler before LU13, decided to try em again and then suddenly realised how uber they are. Ah well, Defile may be crap but I still wouldn't wanna switch class if I had the option.</div>

That's basically what it was for me.  I always wanted to play a Defiler, but they were so broken it wasn't worth it, so I made her and left her there.  The Defiler is my main now =)<div></div>

Interesting to hear that Sok. I use to play a Shaman in EQOA and loved it. When I started, wards were not that great, so I started a Druid (Warden) instead. I'm now starting up a baby Defiler to check out how I like them. We're a very popular class for 2nd toons I've noticed.  But leveling all the way up to 60 after revamp after folks leveled their Main takes time.<div></div>

I've noticed that I run into more low lvled Defilers then before, but don't know if there actually is an increase or just a perception from my part.I have a hard time gettin my only toon recently reached 59 Defiler to 60. But that's probably because I've soloed 60-70% of the time.Wonder how long it would take me if I had crafted as well or if I had another toon ato work on, I'd probably never hit 60 <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

There are more defilers now because a lot of templars and inquisitors have rerolled.  My guild has had several people reroll defilers because we are useful now.  I am currently still the only raid lvl defiler in the guild but that will change soon.  I played my defiler since release, hats off to those like me that stuck with it.  The combat revamp was our reward.  And now dogdog is back! /giggles gleefully<div></div>

I played one from release to when I first quit in February of '05, but when I came back in November, I rerolled on a new, more populated server as a Conjurer as it'd make starting all over a bit quicker.. I always missed my Defiler, and had decided to reroll one, but hesitated until LU19 as I didn't want to go through the old priest/shaman stuff again.   As soon as LU19 hit though, a new defiler was born, and I've been enjoying the hell out of him.  I vastly prefer the role of healer/warder to DPS and it's a marvelously flavorful class, so I've settled in quite well, and now, holy [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn].. I get a pet too.. the one thing I missed sorely from my EQ shaman.Veksis Thrassk - Iksar Defiler of the 25th level, Antonia Bayle server.<div></div>

<div>Defiler is the class i started out to play when Everfrost gone live / Being i use to Play a Dark elf cleric in a raid cleric in EQ1 . playing a healer was nothing new to me so i picked a healer but this time as a shamen class for some thing new . all ways playing evil in EQ1 it followed me to EQ2 and not wanted to be some what the same i made my Troll Defile . playing every day i was one of the top defilers on sever in lvls and skills of playing the defiler class at that time was me and 2 other defiler on whole sever was over lvl 40 . defiler was fun but the class had many probs with it and soon just gave up on EQ2 all togather not doing any thing about the class . Quit EQ2 to play WoW a fun game after you git pass the cartoon look to it . after some time the guild i was in EQ2 what was made by me and my brother and abunch of RL buddies needed me and SoE about time did some change's with there live update makeing defiler wroth wild playing again but i didnt have my old account any more so i started over with a little help from buddies . being i knew Defiler class inside and out i soon LvLed very fast cus my good old guild was a raid guild and i was needed cus they had no Defilers at all . in 1 and a half months i gone from lvl 1 to 45 by the time DoF came out and with DoF made it real fun to play the Defiler class more then ever before and in less then 3 months i was lvl 60 . now with the New KoS add on comeing and seeing how the Shamen class's and other healer class's are going to end up its very much a let down for comeing back . the lack of our group ward not even giting s new one and our uber lvl 65 class spell being the wrost of any class not just healers is a total let down and for is i came back to EQ2 for is very sad to see not knowing now to reroll or to change from defiler to Mystic or to end up quiting yet again knowing this is not going to be fixed or it does just 4 to 6 months from now is killing me in the end :robotsad: ... well, there is no way i will quit.  but i do see the following things that need to be addressed for expansion:-couple missing spell upgrades (easy fix and obvious oversight)-[Removed for Content] class defining spell (~2-4 month fix i bet)-AA testing (~2-3 months before dust settles)i expect a bumpy ride for 3 months then smooth sailing after that<div></div>

In eq1 i ways played a rng,war,ber just because i loved the playing styles and the brute force thoughs toons would deal.</p><p>As i started eq2 a couple of months ago I though lets go rng I got to lvl20 and hated it because it just didnt repesent they class i came to love in eq1. Now with the changes i might try another one way way way down the road. The I tried a fighter class lol I got bored at lvl 12 and gave up. Then i tried a wizard, he was the raw power i was looking for i lvled him up to 31 then got bored again.  With his paper like armor and his raw power.</p><p>Then i was messing around another alt. By this time i have become a alt-a-holic.</p><p>Hello my name is Blazeprophet and I am a alt-a-holic.</p><p>So I was messing around with new toons I have noticed I mess the priest class all together. I did it on purpouse because no matter what game i ever played i never liked a healer class so slow to lvl and couldnt solo if their life depended on it.</p><p>So the life of Deathsenemy begain a low lvl shaman but i was different then i hit 20 and became a defiler. My eyes widened and went wow i love this guy. To this day i dont know why i like him so much but i really do. He can solo ok but freaking slow but that is fine. Hes such a debuff master once i learned how to play him the soloing became a little easier. I never really been a group person because even on lotto i always feel i am getting the short end of the stick, but i dont care with this toon.</p><p>So since i started my Ratonga Defiler i have since passed up my wizard and now almost lvl 40. I think it can just get better. If you have stayed and read this entire thing I owe ya a silver piece. lol</p><p>Since i started this thread I might hijack it by asking the question what made you love youre defiler.</p>

And since there aint the same amount of Defilers out there as the other classes makes u feel somewhat special. I've always played healer when ever possible because I like to be in that support role, The fact that it's an evil healer was a bonus, made it possible to be a Dark Elf and a healer,I like the idea of killing things with disease, feels evil in away.
