<div>Hey there actually a few questions, I really want to be a healer I am mainly leaning towards Defiler, because of their raid importance. How are they for being a solo healer in a group for leveling up though...</div><div> </div><div>Also how would one role play a Dark Elf Defiler...would love any suggestions and feedback please.</div><div> </div><div>Thanks for your time</div>
<div></div><p>I duo/trio alot and have only full grouped a few times in my 20's in FG.</p><p>There was a cleric in the group with me and we ground along for a few hours hunting named. I was warding and healing a bit, debuffing in between. Then the Cleric left. I didn't even notice the Cleric was gone. I thought I would have to step it up but I did the exact same thing. I think the Cleric left because he was bored.</p><p>I duo/trio'd every named in ROV. I have been trio'n Varsoon almost everyday since he was yellow.</p><p>IMO, at least at these levels we MH just fine for a group. </p><p>It is a great class. I am having alot fo fun with him.</p>

<div></div>ya once you learn your limits if you find any, you will group fine. As a defiler I have to educate the players i group with sometimes. Like after my ward drops attack away that way i dont draw the agro right off the bat. That way the mt does have to work so hard.

<div></div><div></div><p>that and the tank should NOT watch the group health bars to determine who has aggro. They need to actually watch who the mob is hitting and react appropriatly. Likewise, groupmembers should not assume just because their health isn't moving doensn't mean they aren't being beat on. They need to pay attention to who the mobs are hitting and call for help if the mob starts in on them.</p><p>Having the tank attack while ward or group ward is up is ...bad. </p><p>As for roleplaying the DE, well, DE society would consider random "spirits" weak. A DE that listens to weak spirits instead of Innoruck or more secular persuits would be considered weak and inferior. I'd expect this general ostracism would affect your character. </p><p>Message Edited by Ishnar on <span class="date_text">01-12-2006</span><span class="time_text">07:47 PM</span></p>
<div></div>Up to about lvl45 I duoed alot with an assassin and in groups was often the only healer and never came across any problems. In fact in my early days in one guild was always asked to group the minute to I logged on, so I must have been doing something right (and that was in the days when defiler wards weren't working correctly). Since 45 I've mainly trioed with the assassin and a bruiser and did very well levelling quite fast, and never had many problems even against heroic ^^^ named mobs who had some friends associated with them. In the few groups between 45-60 I've found that while having another healer in the group means the group can kill quicker I've never found it essential or found I couldn't handle anything when they've had to leave making me the only healer. Yes, as someone has mentioned, I've had to work a little harder, but hey, healing can be a fulltime job <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />As for roleplaying, although I'm a DE defiler, I don't roleplay so can't give you any suggestions there.Hope you have fun as a defiler if you choose to do so.<div></div>

U cant really compair us to a druids or cleric, totally different healer class. So if u want to be a shaman, have bada$$ wards, top of the line buff and debuff, a Defiler is top choice hands down. Maybe one day u can be the leetness that is ME <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> jk.</div><div> </div><div>BTW: be a ratonga, trust me youll be happy.</div>

<div></div>About the Rp'ing - someone said de's would consider it weak to listen to spirits, but Defilers don't listen to spirits, they enslave the souls of thier ancestors to do thier bidding. To me that sounds like it's right up a LongShadow Alley.

Remember that a defiler is a priest class, thefore they "serve" the spirits, not the other way around.

To answer the original question:- Single healer for any group? Ill take it any day and I will take 'any' challenge any equal level healer does with the assurance not only that I will keep them alive but I will eat a sandwich while doing it <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Yes I have become terribly confident but Im 55 and everyone that groups with me has always told me how easy it has been, the whole once you go defiler you dont go back <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Trust me a defiler played well can MH/single heal any group that any other healer could and yes I'd dare say can do it more easily but that isnt that important. I do have 7 masters now at 55, debuffs, wards and heals + prismatic etc so it only gets better.- Raids, my guild always has a defiler in the MG if we are around.. there is no need to explain why but we are that important in raids but you know that already!- As for lore behind defilers.. sigh I couldnt be happier - see my journal below for it, especially later posts talking about Otherworld, Soul gates and how our art may work. Since SOE have NO lore behind how the classes work, I have happily invented some of the lore behind defiler arts and it is simply for my own characters story but it is not intrusive on anyone and allows so much imagination and flexibility, it is wonderful. After all dealing with spirits, ghost planes and stealing souls... it is great <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> The best part is when you roleplay with others and threaten to steal their soul in their sleep...One Two.. Silthian is coming for you...Three Four, Better lock your door...Five Six, Grab a crucifix,Seven Eight, Better stay up lateNine, Ten, Never 'sleep' again.....Now that... is fun <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<div></div>yea bring it on. month of writting feedback have paid off and for those who played the class when it was by far the hardest healer class in the game to run.now that we been given some love in regard to other healer class can do anything that other priest class can do and probably better cause they forged us in hell for 10 months. hahaha beware bad [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] defilers forged in hellforge coming by the 100s now on my server. oops i think i see some other healer class wetting their pants.lol a happy defiler HEALER CLASS
