<DIV>Ok i'll tell ya I am coming from a wiz and i seen a defiler play the other day and it was just cool. So i rolled a priest and I just got to 20 lastnight.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now my question is what stats are important to a defiler. I understand wis is important for the power pool and heal spells whic up to lvl 20 I havnt really had that use much except the ward spells. As a wiz before It was imortant to have good int for great damage. Now after reading that posts here i read that alot of people are focusing on wis and sta. They let int go altogether for the most part. Am i missing the point of a deilfer. I think of a deifler as a de-buffer and healer with some carnage on the side.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>To get the carnage on the side dont i need the int or do deilfer shine in the melee area. What am I missing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thank you for all the help you give in advance.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Oh a little bit more info</DIV> <DIV>my stats are 757 health and 860 in power pool mititgation is around 676 avoidence is at 9.8%</DIV> <DIV>str 32 sta 44 int 57 wiz 68 and all res in the 250 area or higher.</DIV> <DIV>This is at lvl 20. The str and sta may be off a little.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

you're probs gonna want max wis you can get lvling up, get some hex dolls made, should help. if you're lvling to 60, i really wouldn't focus on any other stat really, if you find items with +int or +sta and wis, great, thats minorly helpful too, but I wouldn't really worry much about the others. <div></div>

ok I understand that comeing from a healer stand point. My question is for the ability to deal damage to be able to solo. Is the defiler a melee or caster and what stats help in thoughs roles for a defiler. Since i hardly see anyone put stats into int. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know i am a preist but i want to be a priest that has some damage uffff behind him.</DIV><p>Message Edited by blazeprophet on <span class=date_text>01-01-2006</span> <span class=time_text>05:55 PM</span>

<P>At lvl 54, i can get my int into the low 300's with group buffs. I have all adept3 or master spells. With that, I still only do 2- 5% of the group damage if I have to ward. I always start off with 2 debuffs ( reduce atk/reduce dps, and my reduce all stats % spells) then I go for my noxiouse mitigation reduction damage spells. If i don't have to ward, and we are doing a group of 4+ mobs i will cast Maelstrom ( lvl 50 spell) and i can get up to about 250dps, about 10 - 15% of the grop damage. </P> <P> </P> <P>Soloing is very slow for a defiler. And in reality, int only effects our damage spells, unlike inquisitors where it effects a couple of there buffs also. if you are playing a defiler to be a good healer / suport class then go wisx2>sta>int>agi. I usualy do about 30% soloing so I went all int back before i learned the need for Wis, and Sta ( remember that your heals will start costing you health now ) I think I will respec and go all wis like I was told to month ago by one of the defilers on this board.</P>

<DIV>I would go all wis even for soloing, the little more dps you get from high int is far outweighted by the more power you have to cast a extra spell, and even tho more int allows you to kill the mob faster it makes soloing slower in general cos you have to spend more time waitiong for power cos your power pool is low. Thats what i get from my very limited soloing.</DIV>

<DIV>OK i have to say something on this.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A large power pool is Great for raiding / grouping on named. But power regen has 2 parts</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1st part is a Set % of your total power pool It is alway 4% out of combat and 1% in combat</DIV> <DIV>2nd part is a Set amount ( food ) it is alwas XX out of combat. The larger your power pool the smaller % of it this 2nd type fills each tic.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>By no means am I saying that you should go Int over wis. I like having all the wis I can get. It raises all My resists and has no cap in that respect. However when I am in raid set up and have a PP in the ^- 7 k range if I depleate it on a boss it takes about 50% longer to refill than my normal PP even with a totem going and regen buffs. ( not complaining because I almost always end a boss fight with 5% or less. Wards slow and debuffs eat lots of power)</DIV><p>Message Edited by Itzon-Huta on <span class=date_text>01-02-2006</span> <span class=time_text>12:42 AM</span>

<DIV>Again thanks for the help. One thing with this build so far is that i always kept my stats even at first because i didnt know. From what I am getting regaurdless of our int our buffs we get later will help out. I started this defiler last friday and as of today I am 23. This by far has been my fastest lvler. I have played a wiz, summoner, ranger and now a defiler. My wiz is a power house but always waiting for a attack to cycle around to attack again. My summoner and ranger can pull like no other. This deifler is the first toon I was able to kill heroics with.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thats why i was asking so much about stats and what i could do to enhance that attack ability of this toon, but everyone keeps talking about wiz and how wiz is so imortant to a healer. To be honest I hate the role of a healer its to stressfull because if the group dies guess who gets complained to the most. This toon has been a great soloer up until now. I have been stuck with 2 attacks for a while now. The debuffs are nice and does help alot. Is that why is solo's so well? Either way thanks again for your help.</DIV>
<div></div>Im lvl 52 now and while I focus on wis, I am not that interested in other pure stats except int which I like having at around 100+ for damage. The whole stamina thing has to do with hitting 60 and raiding lives.. this doesnt affect many people simply. Until then honestly, its wis all the way and for pure soloing/duoing which I am sure everyone does for significant amounts on their way, the int makes a lot of difference. Even at 52 I do find times I am soloing or with a partner and the extra damage matters then.. not everyone is always grouping and healing only.. Ive always enjoyed the versatility of the defiler. Until then we get the best health buffs so you wont have a problem with 'that' and stamina. The other stats are not generally considered much in a defilers life as far as I know... So I'd say wis only with int secondary. Get to 60 and 'then' when hitting cap, think about stamina because you have nothing 'else' to worry about <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Seeing how defilers are rare and how few are even in 60s this issue is again not applicable to many. <div></div><p>Message Edited by VizP on <span class=date_text>01-03-2006</span> <span class=time_text>09:23 PM</span>
