View Full Version : Group ward not protecting me the defiler - I'm getting hit!

<DIV>Howdy folks, one of my many alts is a Defiler 46.  Last night grouping in Sol E, I kept noticing that as ^^^ adds would wander in and, naturally, smack me around... my Carrion Shield group ward was not protecting me.  I believe it was protecting the tank/others getting hit, but sometimes I would get hit for 550 piercing, etc, while the group ward was on.  What is up with this?  I think it did work if I pre-warded the group before pull, but during mid fight if I recast it, I would get smacked and have to malefic shroud myself.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>edit: forgot to mention it's a Master 1 Carrion shield, and I chose the M2 Malefic shroud for the 44 training option.  </DIV><p>Message Edited by Aralys on <span class=date_text>12-15-2005</span> <span class=time_text>01:01 PM</span>

I've brought this up in a topic recently. Carrion shield is bugged, don't know if its just that spell or the entier line but this is how the bug works:If u land Carrion Shield before an old CS has expired u cancel the ward effect thus making it not ward for any dmg in other words making the spell useless. There are two ways to avoid this bug the first one is to cast a single ward before casting CS again so it has time to expire. The second solution is to manually cancel the one still active prior to  landing the new one.It's sad that we need to do this since it can't be intetionally like it is now, if it is then its totally useless in my opinionThis bug was fixed awhile ago but for unknown reason it has returned. Ive bugged reported it twice and I know others have send a report as well. Soiwe'll jsut have to wait and see if SOE fixes it again, and I hope they'll do it asap since atleast  vital for my survival and probably many others as wellHope that clarifies it for u<div></div>

Yes definite issue.. every patch they just 'have' to break some aspect of our wards. <div></div>

I dont think its the entire line, I have the level 28 version (Seeping Eschar) at Master 1 and it does not appear to be displaying this behavior.  I'm just basing that off of visual evidence though, I havent parsed any logs to make sure.

<div></div>I've been testing Ward of Spirit A1, Seeping Eschar A1 and Carrion Shield M2 I dont have Carrion Aegis yet so haven't had the chance to test that version. test goes like this: I cast one of the versions in the line and recast it as soon as I can, if it lands before the old one expires (it always does) it stops working with no exceptions. Feel free to feedback in game too - don't trust the develops actually look at these boards enough or pass the information on.. at least in game they are getting it direct <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>
