<img src="http://img315.imageshack.us/img315/647/wtf14ty.jpg"> Here we see me having cast Eerie Avenger on myself as a friendly AE-stunning annoyance of a chaotic elemental comes to own me. As you can see, it goes off without fail. SCORE! Oh wait...[expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] is this? Maybe that was just a lovetap..... <img src="http://img315.imageshack.us/img315/2570/wtf27vb.jpg"> So, the add elemental eventually goes away, and my friendly Inquisitor friend Jocelin heals me. Yippee! 3 seconds later, the Archlich "devastates" me. Well [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]. With me out of the picture, I have two questions: 1) WHY IS MY PET STILL ALIVE IF I AM DEAD? 2) WHY IS MY PET THAT IS STILL ALIVE IF I AM DEAD KILLING OTHER HEALERS IN MY RAID? Capitalized for the effect, obviously. It was slightly amusing, since it was a bad pull + bad roll on his spells, so we wiped anyway, but if I cast that on the MT during a difficult encounter we were doing decent in, and the pet went crazy on the chanters....I don't think ppl would be happy with me =p Please fix this. Please. The end. <div></div>

<DIV>Yea I /bugged this a few months ago when I was killing the grey lvl 40 x3 mob for the Stein heritage. I noticed that the eerie avenger spawned grey and was actually attacking me. Then I had it happen again in Everfrost when Webclaw popped on us, and the avenger popped blue and was attacking the tank. I took a screenshot of it attacking the tank and bugged it again. The it happened recently in BoF when I had cast it upon myself, died 5 seconds later, and the avenger then goes and kills the cleric in the group. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This spell had never been that reliable, but the fact that the actual attacking mob can get ownership of the pet that spawns makes it almost useless. Whomever I cast it on doesn't need another pet attacking them if they are near death.</DIV>

Pardon me if it has been said/asked before, but does the avengers have limited chances to spawn, even if the heal portion fires? I have casted it a lot so far, and when the heal fire no avengers spawn - but once in solo arena. I was curious about that spell so I double checked everytime if anything poped. Different spell, but then again it doesnt deserve another topic : I need someone to clarify suppuration. It says the minions attack whoever break the ward, yet when I got the spell while grouped i was eager to test it and casted it instead of my pre-pull ward. It broke, the avengers spawned and stayed into place doing nothing. I then realised that my toon hadn't engaged combat, so I thought it might be the explanation. As a side note, what happen if you break the ward with for instance, your manastone? didnt you "die" by damage done by yourself? thus the avenger trying to avenge you... from yourself and your own raid? just a thought <div></div>

<P>I think the % chance is for heal AND avenger to spawn. i have not used this enough to verify it though.</P> <P>The Purulence spawns only kill the mob that broke the ward, so if your're fighitng many mobs, they will go away once the mob they are on goes away. Makes it important to make sure the big mob breaks Purulence if possible.</P> <P>I have never killed myself with a manastone but I can see how your scenario would happen. Bad part about this conversation is that it involves death and debt and most folks arent willing to test too much.</P>

I'm positive about purulence : the mob that broke the ward was alive and beating on my group when they spawned. I was standing non engaged like a coke-numbed rat though, I think that's why they didn't attack in the first place. That said I never had any problem spawning them, no bugs ever occured to me. I see 3 thread going on various bugs/issues with pet spawning either not spawning or attacking the wrong target, shouldn't it be consolidated? <div></div>

I used Eerie on the Pit Champ yesterday... When I died, I was healed and yada yada. I could swear that I saw either the avenger buffing the pit champ, or hitting him... He was standing behind the pit champ, much too far away from me for melee range. Then roughly 5-10 seconds later he came and destroyed what dignity I had left...

<DIV>I've never had any real issues with Purulence. I do know manastone will prevent them from spawning, and I"ve had it on rare occasions in which manastone wasn't used, the ward was broke, but nothing spawned. I have also seen Shadow Avengers standing around before following a group member and doing nothing, even after the battle was over. However, this was caused by the mob that broke the ward despawning instead of dying (was a murk minion in heroic arena that broke it, murk died and the minion just despawned before it was killed). Was funny because the group member it was following had no idea what they were and why they were following him around.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As far as our spell Eerie Avenger, I just don't use it very much. It's got such a small duration, long recast time, and only works 60% of the time in a very special circumstance. But when all the pieces fall into place and I do get it to actually go off, the attacking mob nearly always gets it as a pet, spawning the same level as the attacking mob (had a lvl 54 eerie avenger pop up just the other day) and attacking us.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Even at 60% chance, in a raid situation where the tank is taking huge damage (it happens rarely, I know), or an unlucky AE happens, this spell can, and has been, the difference between a win and a wipe. It's certainly no EQ1 Divine Intervention, but it's certainly worth using. So long as they fix the cleric-killing pet.</span><div></div>

<DIV>Oh it's not a skill to be forgotten, I upgraded it to adept 3. Granted it was one of the last ones to upgrade, but it's a last ditch spell to cast when everything is turning bad. The problem is that the % of proc, the circumstances required for it to proc, the duration of the buff, and the recast timer do not work well together. You usually either wasting a 15 min timer, as the tank doesn't get near death to proc it, or the circumstance is so dire it was like a drop in a puddle. I've had it save my life before, and I've had it saved a tanks life before. An extra 1k heal can't hurt if everything falls into place.</DIV>

<P>I think that's the entire point on the spell though <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>Not something you'll use often, not something that will always work, but an ability you have that can turn bad situations around (except when the pet goes crazy =p).</P> <P>If they change it to working more often, we'll start having the obligatory "DI cleric" we had in EQ1, and that's kind of silly in my opinion.</P> <P> </P>
