<DIV>I'm starting to get Adept IIIs now well actually just get Adept III Healing Ritual the other day and now wondering what order I should be working to getting them on.  Healing Ritual as a first one is a no brainer. The Adept I of is almost non-existant and its a spell you use and will continue to use your whole life. Plus being a less than lvl 20 spell its not killer pricey (7gp I paid for mine)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What would you suggest next? I was half tempted to get Spectral Ward but as I'm getting bummed with its ability to stand up to mobs now it might be a waste. Contamination was another thought as I do use it often.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What spells are higher levels still using regularly say in your mid 30s? I don't want to buy an adept III and then retire that spell at lvl 30 or so</DIV>

<DIV>Heh.. i paid 2g..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Fulginous. The debuff alone is worth it for adept 3, + the DoT.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Really no way to put it in order for a whole class. Whichever skills you use the most. Personally I just use fulginous, regeneration, and revulsion. After that a ward usually lasts most of its duration.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just remember, upgrades will only benefit the skill up to its master level. If a spells mastery is 120 Objugation, and youre at 125, buying a master 4 will not help it at all.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So in other words... buying an adept 3 for any spells that are blue (sometimes white) or lower is just a complete waste of time and money.</DIV>

<DIV>I am not sure of that statement.  However, I will be the first to admitt that I am no expert.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>However, I thought that the con of the spell simply determines the scalabilty of said spell as you level.  So, in the example, when you hit 120 skill, the spell will con 'white' and will no longer get more powerful on your next ding.  But, the spell will still increase in power if you moved from AppIII to Adept III.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For example; Spectral Ward.   At max skill (ie, the spell cons white) the AppIII version may absorb 500 dmg.  Upgrading to the Adept III version will net you more, it may then absorb 700 dmg. (these are made up numbers btw)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, moving to an Adpet III version, even if the spell con is white or lower, will still net you more power.  It just wont get any better as you level.  It may still be worth the upgrade, as long as there is not an upgraded version in the same spell line coming soon.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Please let me know if I am way off base.  /roflol</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

This is my understanding of the spell system:Even at mastery level, an adept 3 will do more than an app 3.Mastery level (based on skill points and "mastering a spell", not spell type Master I) is the level at which a spell stops improving. For example an apprentice 1 healing ritual will stop increasing in healing power once you reach the level where you master the spell. But you are mastering "Healing Ritual (Apprentice I)". You are not mastering "Healing Ritual" as a whole. So there is still room to improve the spell by upgrading the spell itself to App3, Adept I, Adept III, etc.

<DIV>Have to agree too. When I did buy Healing Ritual it was a green spell to me and it shaved off about 10 points in power cost and added about 130 points to the heal from Apprentice III. So ya there's always a time to upgrade the spell itself provided you'd use it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm thinking I'd upgrade Contamination before Fuliginous just based on cost, if memory serves its lower than lvl 20 and those spells are considerably cheaper than above 20. Spectral Ward was my other thought. If you find a use for it at 35 then its tempting.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My other thought was Totemic Aid. Sounds funny but this is a pretty decent heal for its mana cost even at the app2 level its sitting at. Thinking for 7gp it'd make a half decent heal.</DIV>

<DIV>I think he found a use for it because he never upgraded spec guard to ad3. I wouldnt upgrade totemic aid, you will get a better small heal soon. Go with fuliginous or degeneration over contamination for upgrading.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>32 defiler - guk server</DIV>
