Hi,Here's a walkthrough about how to become a defiler. Like the title say's this is a MAJOR spoiler. If you don't like that stop reading now <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. ----------------------------------Talk to the priest Keilan in North Freeport. She will send you to meet a troll called Mizzog. Mizzog can be found South/West of the temple underneath a tree. All encounters in this quest are easily to solo at lvl 18.-Mizzon will send you off to the wailing caves to collect some souls, go to WC and defeat:*Shin'ree spiritist (mob found at entrance)*Shin'ree aggressor (mob found at the bottom of the pit)*essence of Shin'ree (found at the grave yard pit (burial grounds?) in WC)-Return to Mizzon who will now tell you to kill the orc high priest in WC. Don't go running of to WC now, but talk to Mizzon again as this is an isnstance which she starts.*defeat the priest and destroy 4 statues in his room.-Talk to mizzon again to recieve a nice hammer and a verry nice xp reward, and call yourself defiler if you are already lvl 20.

<DIV>Nice, post and few corrections... You don't need to destroy the statues, just kill the orc priest.</DIV> <DIV>Also essence of Shin'ree and Shin'ree aggressors can both be found at the bottom of the pit.</DIV>

So just so I'm getting this straight, after you kill a Shin'ree spiritist,Shin'ree aggressor, and an essence of Shin'ree, you go back to her and the next mission (high priest) is an instanced mission? You dont have to go back to WC and find him?

<DIV>BTW the instance looks like the Orc Cave from newb island <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I just did it at 18... cant even use my [Removed for Content] new beautiful weapon yet. Not hard at all, run to the cave, can solo all 3.. Fighting the priest lowest I got was probably 85% health, I coulda beat that dude to death with my doom stick.</DIV>

<DIV>I did this quest at 18 and got through it no problem.  The hardest fight is the Essence of the Shin'Ree.  Probobly not needed, but if you have doubts take along a friend.  Also make sure that when you hit the aggressor that he is a solo.  They may look solo down there and have a buddy lurking in the shadows.</DIV>

<DIV>Yeah, did the Shin'Ree things at 18 (but not yet the Orc...just hit 19), and the essence was tough.  First time I went there it resisted a LOT, and I had to flee out when I ran out of power.</DIV>

<DIV>Something i found out last night, when you kill the orc priest and recieve your hammer, if you are 18 you won't be able to use it.  Just ding to 19 and your skill in hammer will be 95 and you can use the hammer.  Thought that was interesting myself.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mathyuis Arcturus</DIV> <DIV>19th shaman</DIV>

<DIV>You dont need to speak to the starter in NFP either. Mizzag said something to me about being ready (I was 1<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> as I ran past her.</DIV>

Question on the Shin Ree Aggressor - Is this a rarish spawn - as I've spent the better part of 90 mintues at the bottom of the pit waiting on one to spawn to no avail. Ive even killed the essences and the other junk mobs down there in hopes of getting one to pop.Rincewinde, 19.8 shamanLavastormGrip Of Agony

Took me all of 5-10 minutes to find and kill all three needed mobs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As a side note: to me there feels to be a serious disconnect in the difficulty of the Defiler quest with the SK quest, for example.  Killing 3 mobs, single pulls, 2 grey, 1 green for the Defiler, witha green at 18 end mob solo. Meanwhile the SK has grouped and paired green and blues he has to kill until the RNG pops the correct mob to kill, then the end fight of grouped blue and white at 18 cons. Note to mention the near impossibility for the SK to solo the quest as the Supply Room in the Serpent Sewers is behind tough group pulls, while nothing aggros on the defiler to be in WC by 18.</DIV> <DIV>Maybe it is just me, but it doesn't fell even remotely balanced.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I was disappointed at how easy this quest was when I solo'd itn in 15 minutes with crummy armor.  /sigh</DIV>

<DIV>When I did the quest one of the shin'ree needed was up near the entrance and the other two were at the bottom of the pit. There were lots and lots of all three up when I was there even though there were groups hunting there so I would have to say no, shouldn't be a rare spawn. How long did you hang around?</DIV>

<DIV>Huh.  As much as I've killed down there, I've never seen one spawn.  Wish I woulda known that instead of campin the Advisor for 2 hours.  :robotmad:</DIV>

<DIV>Aye... my defiler doesn't have advisor key either and still I managed to do the quest, so yes it spawns in the pit...</DIV>

<DIV>The essence definitely spawns at the bottom of the pit.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Did this for my cleric and my gf's shammie. Both times there were essence(s) at the pit. The other 2 mobs were readily available. This is on the Najena server.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The Cleric version was identical except the room for the final fight has around 9 ~ 12 skellies and a necro with a spider pet. The shammy version is really very easy.. really..</DIV>

The defiler quest seems a little too easy.I have a feeling it's bugged, and the statues in the priest's room are supposed to actually do something like come to life and attack you while you're fighting. My advice: if you want to be a defiler, get the quest done asap before SOE "fixes" it <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
