Level 54 Mystic with +WIS & +STA gear here...

I adventure solo, duo, and trio 99% of the time. I’ve not been playing in a long while and my playbook of tactics is standard old school casting order stuff. I loaded KoS and EoF and I’m working up the melee CA’s for now but I need to re-gear armor and trinkets for more solo work.

What gear Stats are you using and boosting for more hands-on combat? And more importantly, Why.

Thanks!

Message Edited by BonesMandu on 02-01-2007 12:47 PM

I'm kinda the same play style as your self. WIS is still the prime stat and then STR for a secondary stat then STA, AGI, INT in that order. With the EoF CA's int is almost useless to you other than proc damage. STR increases your melee damage which is always good and STA for hp's and AGI for avoidance. There is some good info on how to spec melee mystics a few threads back for aa's.

cool, but my INT description says it will do more damage with spells. Is this not valid for mystics but only mages?

INT increase spell damage for all classes.. The only beneficial side effect Mages get with INT is that it increases their power pool like WIZ does ours.

As for gear if you want to solo a lot, I would go INT and STR gear.. Will give you higher damage in both Melee, and Spells.. Really for soloing don't worry too much about WIZ as the more you have, probably the less damage you're going to be doing and the fight will be longer.. Don't worry about your power pool, and increase your damage potentail as much as possible.. it will shorten your fights substantially, and you'll not have to spend as much power doing it.

My thought is you would want to continue with the melee AAs and also get the 100% melee crits from the AGI line if you haven't already done so. What Duntzzzz said would be accurate if you weren't using the melee arts. If you were still casting spells you would want high INT. As it is, INT will do essentially nothing for you (other than procs which again is what Omega said).

I take a slightly different route, mostly just letting the core stats come as they may. Instead, I put more value on +weaponskill*, procs**, and melee modifiers***. * - piercing or crushing depending on your chosen weapon ** - melee triggered or spell triggered, depending on how your AAs are set. *** - DPS and Haste. Assuming of course you are going the melee route.

It's been some months ago, but by switching out my "normal" gear for equipment that increased my INT as much as possible I was able to increase my DPS from 250 to about 375. This was before EoF for sure.
