<DIV>I'm still wondering if it's an added 3% on all triggers or it's a 3% increase to the base trigger chance. Anyone know for sure?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, which class would benefit the most? Rogues, for poison procs? Or maybe the tank for added taunt value due to extra procs?</DIV>

An added question...does it increase proc chance for item based procs? grizzles, etc.<div></div>

<div></div><div></div>Ancestry adds to any spell proc/item proc you have casted on yourself or items on your person. I find it especially useful for increasing proc chance on pris 2.0 and claymore <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Everyone in my group usually fights for me to cast it on them lol.Edit: Prismatic 2.0 Base Proc Chance 1.8 times per minute With Ancestry Proc chance 2.7 times per minute <div></div><p>Message Edited by Darkstu on <span class="date_text">12-24-2006</span> <span class="time_text">07:55 AM</span></p><p>Message Edited by Darkstu on <span class=date_text>12-24-2006</span> <span class=time_text>08:02 AM</span>

Ancestry is a static 3 percent increase on proc chances for any effect the target has placed on them, be it an item, spell or something else. Meaning, a 12 percent chance turns into a 15 percent chance, etc, etc (unlike some other AA's, templars mainly, which increase the original chance by a certain percentage dynamically).Honestly, when I'm in groups, I just ask who has the most proccing stuff and go from there, but usually it ends up being one of the pure DPS roles.<div></div>

<DIV>Thanks all for your answers. Meanwhile, I got enough AAs to buy the skill.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>More often than not, it'll go on our tank so his shield can proc a 750 encounter taunt + 2 second daze more often.</DIV> <P>Message Edited by SonnyA on <SPAN class=date_text>12-28-2006</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>10:16 AM</SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by SonnyA on <span class=date_text>12-28-2006</span> <span class=time_text>07:22 PM</span>

<DIV>At first I was abit upset that mytics got 3% and Templars and Dirges got 25%....until I understood how they were applied. The mystic ancestry buff is 3% added directly to the current proc % of an item or effect. So if an item has a 5% chance to proc, ancestry would make the item have an 8% chance which results in a 60% increse in the items chance to proc. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For comparison, the dirge proc buff adds 25% to the items base proc rate. So an item with a 5% proc rate would increase to a 6.25% proc rate. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So clearly for items with low proc % (below 12.5%, which seems to be the majority of the items/effects in the game), the mystic buff adds more, although it is single target only and the templar buff is group. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For the high proc % effects the mystic buff doesn't do much. For example guardian hate proc is 50% , so the dirge buff increses that to 62%, while the mystic buff would only increse it to 53%.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Good news though...the dirge 25% increse to proc rate will stack with the mystic 3% static increse...so for the 50% example, the dirge increses proc chance to 62% and the mystic further increses it to 65%.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I havn't been able to play around with stacking between the dirge and templar proc increases.</DIV>

<DIV>It works wonders with my shadowknight, who also increased his proc rate with AAs. If he sneezes, something procs.</DIV>

One of the best applications of this buff that I've found is on a MT with a Templar and Dirge also in the group. Stoneskin procs will be insane. It's also great on poison using scouts. Really anyone with decent gear and an adornment or two is going to have procs they want to see fire more often. Touch choice sometimes deciding who gets it, though when I can't decide I just go with myself <span>:smileytongue:</span>.<div></div>
Mystique, I found that if I cast Ancestry on the MT, the stoneskin procs will not go up, because they are not spells that the MT casted on himself. I believe they only work on the source of the spell, i.e. a dirge/templar. Please correct me if I'm wrong.<div></div>

<P>This may be a silly question but I'm still curious about it nonetheless...</P> <P>Does anyone know if the "trigger chance" also applies to critical heal and critical damage percentages? Trigger is supposed to apply to items, buffs, spells, CA's so I was curious if a healing spell landing as a crit would be considered a trigger as well.</P> <P>Thanks for your input!</P>
I know at least that it doesn't apply to Don't Kill the Messenger - the dirge buff that increases heal, ranged, melee, and spell crits by 7.5%. Unfortunate, 'twould be awesome if it did <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

No, trigger does not apply to crit heals. Or melee crits. Or spell crits. You need something with text like "this effect will <b>trigger</b> xx times per minute".<div></div>

Don't Kill the Messenger is a buff at the end of the Wisdom Bard AA tree from KoS. So you may find a Dirge or Troubador with it, although neither class will always have it. <div></div>

<DIV>Using it on an adorned weapon, the weapon's own proc to increase casting speed shows an increase, but the proc rate for the damage from the adornment is not listed as increasing when Ancestry is on.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I always put it on the MT which makes sense to me for raiding, but in groups with say an uber tank who may not need it and/or two healers I suppose there could be better candidates. Or perhaps I should put it on the dog <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> .</DIV>
