<DIV>OK, i have  been think about this for a while. I know of defilers that stand out for being very good at there class. A few examples are derrius of NPU and Elefgee of Dissolution. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I now present this question:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Who are the mystics that stand out for being the best at their class? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I dont care about what crafting site they run or some uber questing mystic. I am talking about a raid mystic that is just wicked at their class, one that can solo heal epic x4's. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Just give me a name and reasons why they are considered the best in your eyes. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The reason i am doing this, is I want a mystic to compare myself too. I am growing ever so tired of playing a class thats has been let go into the ditch and I want to know a mystic i can say OH MY GOD, how in the, what in the heck. JUST WOW!!!!!!!</DIV>

<DIV>Really who the "best" is is entirely subjective.  There are many facets of this game and many ways to weight different strengths someone can be good at.  Personally the people you mentioned, I read the names and went "who?"  I know "of" the guilds but beyond that Im really not concerned about them.  I'm not on their servers.  Don't care to be and what they can or can't do is something that you can't really express to someone else on different server that don't actually see them in action.</DIV> <DIV>Judging from your post in a different thread, apparently being a high dps'er is important to you.  Others, some damage while doing what most feel is our primary job is the most important.  Again it is all subjective.</DIV> <DIV>I'm hoping that by me replying I'm not feeding a troll the attention he wants.  Which was my first impression of this thread.</DIV>

Mystics probably dont get that famous like some other classes. After all i dont think its about class, but about people who know really how to play a class. In a raid you will find the defiler most of the time in g1 and the mystic in the scout DPS group. Nevertheless the mystic will support the defiler with all spells that work out of group. So any raid is teamwork anyways. <div></div>

<DIV>I really dont care about DPS much. I was just dpsing casue it was labs and i did not have to heal much since the mobs are pretty easy. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The biggest reason is I am making this post is that I was told I dont play a mystic as well as people have seen. I want to know how can I become better at my class. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I tend to sit at 250-300 HPS on the heal parse. I am almost always put in a group with me and mages or me and scouts. I rarely am ever put into a main tank group. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have hit 580 HPS on matron before and a few other times I have hit high healing numbers. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I never tried to DPS till a few days ago and I did a decent parse. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>While healing, I also call AE timers and keep up debuffs. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So I am really looking for this uber mystic that I am being compared to, I remember very good mystics like Dannin. I know there is at least one mystic that stands out unless we have all just died off from the constant screwing over of our class. <BR></DIV>

<div></div>Thaddeus - Guk<p>By far, the best Mystic I have ever played with.  Incredible healer.  Raid wise all other healer's run out of mana, he never gets below half it seems, and parse wise, always top healing over all other classes when in the MT group.  If a Defiler is in the MT group and he is in another group, the parse is about equal.  Most hit points World Wide.  Most knowledgeable about his class that I have ever talked to.  He punches lama's for fun though, so in that rating he gets a -1</p><div></div>

<P>Thaddeus might have 1st hp, well...actually, 2nd right now, but big deal, he is like 300th in power, off 1st place by nearly 600 power.   Shame.   </P> <P>Im usually 2-4 in hp, and 1-3 in power depending on what I end up keeping on at the end of the night.  Also, nobody can really quote HPS, since it</P> <P>depends what raid mob you are fighting, what group u are in, etc.  </P> <P> </P> <P>I can say this though, I solo healed the black queen (65x4 I believe) <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  And yes, she AE's</P>

<DIV>lol do you even know what you're saying?   </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Im saying this.............Why go ALL out HP, power is much more important.  For that mystic to gain a few more hp, and lose over 500 power....well....its nothing to brag about.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Secondly, this post was using HPS as a determining factor, when it really means nothing unless u can place another mystic in that same group and go from there.   </DIV> <DIV><BR> <BLOCKQUOTE> <HR> salto wrote:<BR><BR> <BLOCKQUOTE> <HR> Munter78 wrote:<BR> <P>Thaddeus might have 1st hp, well...actually, 2nd right now, but big deal, he is like 300th in power, off 1st place by nearly 600 power.   Shame.   </P> <P>Im usually 2-4 in hp, and 1-3 in power depending on what I end up keeping on at the end of the night.  Also, nobody can really quote HPS, since it</P> <P>depends what raid mob you are fighting, what group u are in, etc.  </P> <P> </P> <P>I can say this though, I solo healed the black queen (65x4 I believe) <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  And yes, she AE's</P><BR> <HR> </BLOCKQUOTE>Well, I guess being an unabashed [Removed for Content] stroker is indeed standing out.<BR><BR>In that case, you sir, have succeeded masterfully!<BR><BR> <BR> <HR> </BLOCKQUOTE><BR></DIV>

Munter78 - maybe you missed the part where I said he never gets below 1/2 power.  So 300th in power, really doesn't make a difference.  Anyhow, the topic was What Mystic's Stand Out.  I just gave my opinion<div></div>

Its impossible to gauge such a thing. You see high HPS, I see a possible lack in debuffing or curing, netiher of which ever get parsed. Things like this can only be measured anecdotally and over extremely long periods of time. If a raid force notices that regardless of what else happens, they always seem better off when the mystic is around, that person is a good mystic.  Trying to prove anyone is best is just an exercise in popularity and parse manipulation. <div></div>

<div></div>specced pvp, I can parse generally high and maintain 1st or 2nd on heal parseI was 5th mystic to 70 on nagafen but the other quit by the time I got cap. When havoc had 18 members we started raiding kos and killed everything long before eof. only matron stayed up in tfd (unfortunate) I am known as a really strong mystic in both pve and the strongest in pvp but I am [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] worldwide<div></div><p>Message Edited by WinOpiate on <span class=date_text>12-13-2006</span> <span class=time_text>11:54 AM</span>

Daggart from <Nerfed> on the blackburrow server is by far one of the best Mystics that I have had the pleasure of grouping / raiding with.  He knows every aspect of his class and is a rolemodel amongst all of the healers in our guild.    Devious the 70th Dirge of Nerfed <div></div>

<P>I think that the ability of the player carries a lot more weight than gear does.  There are plenty of mystics worldwide that are well equipped and mastered out.  As far as what's most important, I don't agree with the argument that max power pool is a priority.  Power regen/FT is far more important than max power pool.  With a decent amount of FT, coupled with the manastone and tribal spiritists' hat (and other things like potions, hearts, shards) how often do you EVER run out of power?  A good mystic can balance and manage his/her power for an extended period of time.  So, if you don't ever come close to testing the limit of your power pool, is it really important what number that limit is?</P> <P>Most encounters have you facing some type of AE and needing some sort of resist gear.  Hit points and resist gear are at a premium in most fights.  If you lack in those 2 areas, you will die a lot faster than if you're short a few hundred power.  They come into play way more often than max power.  Even in the longest of fights, I've never heard anyone say "man if I had that 300 extra power I could have got 1 more group heal in and we could have beaten that guy!" or "whew, if I didn't have that 400 extra power at the end, we would have never taken Tarinax down".</P> <P>Maybe I'll hear it someday, but I'm not holding my breath.</P>

<div></div>As some have mentioned already mentioned, gaugeing the quality of a player on a class like Mystic isn't altogether straightforward. We don't have the biggest, the fastest, or the mostest heals. We don't have lots of (any, heh) proc buffs, short duration buffs, or other such neat and noticeable things to cast on group members like Furies, Clerics, Mages heck even Bards "bring it" every so often. We are the silent soldiers, quietly gimping the damage the raid takes from the very start, and keeping with this theme by further blocking more damage from ever hitting our group, the MT, anyone. We make it all seem so easy while everyone else pats themselves on the back for it.Most hp/power/resists/mana clickies don't make you the best Mystic, or the best anything really.  Those leaderboards are lame and very inaccurate, and one shouldn't feel extra satisfaction being on top just as one shouldn't feel bummed with a low ranking. Tough mobs dying and raid members living time after time when you're giving it your all is what I consider exceptional playing. In closing, if you feel you have yet to learn the zen of the Mystic, there are lots of ways to learn and better yourself. Read thru the more informative posts on this forum, join the worldwide mystic channel and have a chat with a few of us.I honestly can't say that I've personally come accross a lot of Mystics that stood out in the crowd. Does that mean that I think I'm the best around? Nah, I just know what I know and do what I do. I can say that I have a lot of respect for the other senior posters on this board, like Banditman, Icetower, Eepop, Thatdumbguy, thedump etc.. I'm willing to bet these guys are some of the best - they know their stuff and share their knowledge with others without thinking twice. They're the heroes in my book <span>:smileyhappy:</span>.<div></div>

<DIV>The last post by <STRONG>Mystique</STRONG> is most revealing in my mind...my raiding guild is currently looking for Mystics as the 1st among healing classes too be added to our guild. Why...we are the most consistant benefit protection class to the raid situation. When I am a part of the team ...we win alot more than lose. And thats Not because I'm that good. Our class if played.. with thought.. Is a great contributer to raid overall success.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Wintu Timeless</DIV> <DIV>Mistmoor</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by -Freeman- on <span class=date_text>12-16-2006</span> <span class=time_text>09:07 PM</span>
