I was forced to take a break away from the game back at the end of the summer, and at the time I had 42 AAs and was spending my last points in the intelligence line for the resists (after finishing the str. line first). Now that there are new AAs, I was wondering if I should continue to finish off the str line or should I start spending points on skills that dont require the pet being alive to make me more powerful. For that matter, should I respec and spend <b>all </b>my points on the new AAs?Any input would help. I felt like I had a firm grasp of the class when I left, but there is so much new to sort through now.<div></div>

I suppose it depends on your playstyle.<div></div>

It most definitely depends on your play style. Also, one a point is flagged for one tree or the other it is stuck in that tree. Meaning, those 42 points in the shaman tree can't be respec'd to go in the mystic tree.<div></div>
<DIV>Definitely go with the old AAs before the new ones. Which line you take will largely depend (drumroll please....) on your playstyle. </DIV>

<P>"Depends on Playstyle" Bahh! thats no help to him at all!</P> <P>There are a few abilities in the New AAs which are very much worth having, Ie. the improvements to buffs like avatar and mammoth. Filling up those, will cost you somewhere near 15 AA's. Initally, avoid the rez and cure lines in the new AAs, there are better place to put points. Then you can go back to the old line if you like. But frankly, you use those buffs <STRONG>ALL </STRONG>the time whether, grouped, in a raid, or god forbid, solo! Why not enhance them before you finish filling in spots on the str or int lines. I'm assuming you have gone all the way to the end of the str line based on your 42 points already allocated. If you haven't then sure, the old str line is a priority. </P>

<DIV>How fast can the EoF Spirit of Wolf upgrade go and how many points will it take to max it?</DIV>

Ehhh? Not to sound [Removed for Content] or not answer your question, but why bother with it? Just buy a horse, or get the free carpet, because frankly its a waste to put AAs into that.

I put the 5 points in SoW, I like it. With 5 points in it, it's a 50% runspeed buff that stacks with JBoots for a grand total of 60% sustained runspeed. It also adds 5% falling damage reduction per point, so at 5 points I got 50% runspeed and 25% falling damage reduction. That said, I haven't really tested the reduction to see whether the 25% is working properly or not, nor do I know if it has issues with the silver lining in cloaks (the falling damage reduction adornment).<div></div>

<DIV>No worries Hammarus, good question really.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My curiousity for the SoW increase is A: The safe fall component and B: The run speed increase.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Since our guild JUST hit level 30 last night, my best horse will be 48% runspeed I believe. I have the 40% carpet, but if I can do better then I'll do it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The other reason is because a tremendous number of zones I fight in don't allow for mounts, so I'm stuck with my SoW speed.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have my JBoots sitting in my house, but if I can hit 60% run speed with those then I'll be all over that!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm all about saving time, and travelling is one of the biggest time sinks in the game to me. (Including trying to harvest!)</DIV><p>Message Edited by Gojirax on <span class=date_text>11-27-2006</span> <span class=time_text>11:27 AM</span>

That's what I do. JBoots + SoW when getting somewhere, then swap to GeB or tougher boots when fighting.Jboots + SoW = 60% runspeed an 25% falling damage redux, barring the possible issues raised in my previous post. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

I have put 4 intp SoW on my warden. An 40% runspeed is awsome <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Remember you have them also when running backwards (not like the new slow motion on horses and carpets) and you have it on walls and swimming. I am thinking about putting a 5th point in... Try to catch me <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> And yes, the plus to safefall is recognicable. About the OP: You cant respec from old to new. Wasted my free respec on the warden <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

<P>Well there is, as you say that new issue with horses and carpets to consider. It does make the SoW AA's more appealing, but safefall? </P> <P>Without it, I can currently jump from the Crypt of Valhoon entry down to the ground in two jumps and still live. Prior to the change to safefall, I would have died on the first jump. Same thing goes for Shimmering Citadel, a jump thru the elevator hole would have killed me, now.......the only thing I got to worry about is the resentment of the scouts. </P> <P>I suppose if you have no where else to put AA's or are not raiding, its an ok place to put AA's but I would much rather have abilities that benefit the group versus the ability to get somewhere faster.</P>

<DIV>/em raises hand... 4 deaths in GFay on day ONE of the expansion! I can't WAIT for safe fall! Granted, that was on my 34 Conjuror, and your overall HP total matters, but hte safe fall thing is just the gravy.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>All my friends that I party with are eagerly looking forward to me maxing out SOW.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You are right Hammarus, in that maxing out your heal crits etc are of more value to your group in the immediate term, but movement from point A to point B also speeds up the rate at which you can level and progress (Whether it be in gathering or adventuring) so I see equal benefit to that.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In the end you'll be good to have them all maxed.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Once I've gotten 100 AA's I'll look at what I may be missing and weigh my options then, but I don't see anythingin the talent trees that I can't augment by some other means. Run speed isn't one of those.</DIV>

Thanks for the responses, it took a few posters, but I got the information that I was looking for.My playstyle is mostly Raiding and Soloing. I spend most of my online time raiding, but when Im not I usually try to solo what quests I can. I will group with guildies for instances, but dont have much interest in loot.I have decided to max out the new "Buff" AAs, then I will go back and finish the int line. Thanks for all the responses. This community has really come a long way from where it was a few years ago. <div></div>

<P>As a new mystic i am doing old first, then new. I am finding for pvp the old are better at the moment.</P> <P>The dog...well, as an experiment and because I have one free respec (haha) I am maxing him out a bit to see what happens. I always have to do the odd thing and just see, then I usually go with the way of everyone else. </P> <P>But I want to see if he is maxed, what happens with him. For now he sure does suck.</P>
