<DIV>just a couple quick questions before I set my AA</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>the combat line- Chilling Strike: use as an <EM>alternate</EM> to chilling winds</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>the way this reads, is that I can still use chilling winds, but if I want to as an alternative, I can use Chilling Strike as a melee attack?  Am I understanding this correctly?  And to raise Chilling Strike Im also going to assume its strictly through placing up to 5 ranks (achievement points) into it as opposed to buying/making adepts as I would with a normal spell such as chilling wind?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>second question, I see we can reset our achievement points on this tree.  Is this a free reset, and how many times can we do this on the new EoF tree</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>thanks!</DIV>

I think you understand the way the achievement CA's work. You can use the normal spells, or you can use the CA's you've put points in - it's a choice of playstyle more than anything else. I don't consider the CA's to be an improvement in DPS over our spells, although they do provide a bit of front-loaded damage at the beginning of a fight due to the fast cast speeds. You get one free respec in the Mystic achievement tree through the button provided in that window. After that respecs are subject to the same increasing cost ladder that the Shaman tree employs. You can respec either tree as many times as you like, but after a handful of times it will cost you 10p per respec and every respec thereafter. Choose carefully.<div></div>

Do the spells turned into CAs use different stats to calculate dmg.ie Str instead of whatnot?

I am not aware of any mechanic which uses the whatnot stat to compute bonuses.Spells are bonused by Intelligence, Melee arts are bonused by Strength.<div></div>

I was under the impression nonfighters have their strength stat capped, and therefore bonuses to strength are less beneficial to priests? If this is true, is it wise to use spells as Combat arts?

<DIV>It isn't that the str stat is capped, however there is a damage multiplier that is applied based on class.  You can read somewhere with the recent changes for instance that all tanks will now have the same damage multiplier.  That being said, if you take the same weapon and hand it to say a zerker and a mystic, with the same strength and no other effects in play, the zerker will hit harder.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
