Sorry if this is a repeat, but I couldn't find it when I searched...I noticed that after the update on August 4th (I think) when I was out and about I could no longer heal other people while they were fighting. That was one of the things I loved about being a priest - I could do drive-by heals for random adventurers who were struggling. Does anyone know anything about this? I also haven't played my Mystic in awhile, so maybe this was something that changed awhile back. Thanks!PopJen<div></div>

<DIV>Maybe they had locked the encounter?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was in SoS last night when EQ2 crashed for me. When I zoned back in my group was in combat. While they were fighting I was able to heal from out of group. /shrug. Specialty heals (our wards) don't work out of group but the direct heals seemed to be just fine.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I like the "drive-by" heals as well. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </DIV>

Well that's good to know! So, silly newbie question, but when someone locks an encounter, is that a setting that they use? Can that also prevent someone from joining in a fight where the adventurer is being clobbered?Thanks!PopJen<div></div>

<DIV>Encounter Locking is an option you can set automatically to ON or OFF, or that you can turn on in mid-fight if it is off by default.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Locked Encounter prevents any outside influence on the battle. Heals, damages, debuffs,etc.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You can see if someone has locked their fight when you notice the lock icon next to the player name and the mob name.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Epic fights are always locked.</DIV>

If an encounter is locked and the situation is really dire, there is also a /yell command that unlocks the encounter, but it then removes all rewards for defeating the encounter. <div></div>
