<div></div>Does anyone else have occassional problems on raids sending Dogdog into a fight? I've double checked that I have our main tank targeted, and that the MT has the mob targeted, but sometimes I get a message saying I can't send Dogdog into the battle (forgotten the exact message). It only happens occassionally, and I haven't been able to pin down the exact circumstances, but it does seem to happen on stairs a lot. It's frustrating when it happens because I'm anxious to get Aura of Warding up and going as soon as I can...Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what do you do to overcome it?<div></div>

Its all about the stairs, or more specifically the Z-axis. For all pets, its hard to send in a pet unless the difference in the Z-axis is fairly small. Its definitely an issue, and has been for all classes with pets since release.  If I had to guess why this hasnt got fixed, I would have to guess that its in some way mixed in with the code that determines wether a mob can "see" another obeject(player or npc) over a given Z-axis difference.  Mobs aggroing from levels above/below you was a fairly sizeable problem in EQ1, but it seems they have some code preventing it in EQ2.  This code likely applies to ALL npcs, including our pet. So I wouldnt expect any fix soon.  Best you can do is run in closer spamming your pet attack key, and then retreat as soon as he goes in. <div></div>

<DIV>Also playing a Conjuror here, and I agree. Z-axis seems to be the culprit, especially since some code was implemented that calculated line-of-sight according to the % of the mob's body you could see. Seems there are some cases where calculations are off, even when you see 100% of the body when fighting on stairs, mostly stairs going down.</DIV>

<DIV>Don't really have anything else to add.  It is definitely the stairs/ z-axis.  Try moving closer to the tank, and telling dogdog to sic-em again. </DIV>

<P>Conjurors and Necromancers have had this problem for a while.  This problem started, IIRC, after LU#13.  I remember it starting then, because I was in NekCastle the Return, after LU#13, and my pet would not attack anything in certain rooms (rooms with uneven floors).  Before that, you could aquire a target just about anywhere in a zone, and send your pet after it, no matter how far away it was.</P> <P>SoE nerfed that ability and left us with the current loser system, where you can be standing next to a mob on stairs, and the pet will not attack.</P>

<DIV><FONT size=1>I too have a Conjuror and a Mystic.  Sometimes in the mass of bodies and spell effects in a raid I have to pivot my view just to see if the pet is still behind me or not.  Luckily the white color helps him stand out though.  If the mob doesn't have too bad of an AOE just move forwards and try to send him in again.  Once he is engaged you should be able to move back again.</FONT></DIV>
