<DIV>I have been researching betrayal due to some interesting changes in the guild I am in.  My question, or advice I am needing from my fellow Mystic's is this:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My guild does not have an active raiding Defiler, and 2 very active Mystics (I am one of them).--Should I (in the interest of the guild) betray to become a defiler?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Some background,  All spells aside, as you would expect I have my fair share of gear and loots, most of which are both shaman (Mystic and Defiler), I have a house with all my stuff in it blah blah blah.  It would take a good deal of effort to move my house to Freeport, etc, etc.  (I have two accounts so I am manage it)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My real concern is the raiding of the guild and the benefit of having <STRONG>1 Defiler and 1 Mystic vs 2 Mystics</STRONG>...Looking for serious comments and suggestions.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Given this post, I am willing to go defiler so all personal points aside like "do you want to betray".  I am strictly looking at the postives and negatives of the class balance on raids.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mystt</DIV>

<P>I believe you will find it more preferable to have one of each versus 2 of one kind.  Generally, though I hate to admit it, raid tanks are usually maxed out on the stats we tend to increase with our main buffs ie avatar, mammoth.  It is only in the increasing of overall hitpoints that advantages can be gained and this is where the defiler fits in.  Additionally, you gain the benefit of the defiler debuffs to a mob versus two mystics deciding(fighting) over who throws on the debuffs.</P> <P>I would seriously try and find a defiler that fits your guild first, if at all possible.  If not, you certainly could betray to a defiler. But if you are doing it for your guild, I would think that upon spelling it out to the guild as to why, that the guild bank should fund the transistion.  Ie. re-equiping you with Adept 3s and Masters.</P>

We have a mystic that decided to go defiler (just cause he liked the class more he decided) and he said it cost him aroun 31p to get his spells back up to adept 3 /master 1 level. If you have the money, and dont mind the work, it would definitely benefit your guild to have one of each.  Although I agree that if you can find someone already a defiler, that would be the best option. <div></div>

<div><blockquote><hr>mystt wrote:<div></div> <p>Eepop, do you mind sending me a PM with his name so that I can talk to him about it?</p> <p>Mystt</p><hr></blockquote>I betrayed from a 70 mystic to a 70 defiler the first day of LU24, if you haven't made up your mind yet and/or have any questions, feel free to ask (in pm's, out of respect for the mystic forums). I did it not only to benefit my guild, but also after playing a beta buffed defiler on test for awhile, decided I actually liked the class better than my mystic.Yeah, it was somewhat expensive and I lost alot of masters, but in the end I'm glad I did it. With moonstones being so cheap now (at least they are on mistmoore), getting all your new spells up to ad3 isn't all that bad.Anyhow, like i said, if you have any questions, etc just ask. </div>

<DIV>We had the same issue with Inq -> Templar.  Our final decision was to leave things as they are and let recruitment sort it out.  We guessed we would have to fund it to about ~30pp and might have a problem with dkp to be refunded as well (for inquisitor-only items).  As soon as we decided this an old Temp returned - problem solved.....</DIV>
