mystic or defiler

<DIV>KK need some help.....currently have a 16 defiler and pondering going mystic.  What is your take on both classes.   I have a 70 swashy and a 69 wizzy but wanted to make a healer class.  Definately wanted to go shaman class cauze of the Healz parses in our raids.  Any input would be great .  thanks <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

Which does your guild have more of? Make the opposite. They are both good classes, but both have some bugs of about equal severity. pick by 1) which city you like better 2) which one you think sounds cooler 3) what your guild needs more <div></div>

<DIV>lots of stuff written on this but eepop's answers about right.  Remember it is a f%%^^& of a long way to level up to raid usefullness now (62++++) and shortly you will be able to betray if you really think you made the wrong decision.  Other bits - not so much use having a defiler out the MT grp or more than 1 defiler in a raid, but they are rarer than mystics </DIV>

That's right, a defiler + mystic > 2 defilers or 2 mystics in a raid or group.

I wouldn't pick a class based on what your guild has or doesn't have... Chances are that by the time you level the toon up to raiding speed your guild will have several of the class you picked hehe.

Are Defilers better debuffers than Mystics?Back in the day, in EQ1, a Shaman was many in demand for their ability to debuff a mobs attack speed, and heal, do both Defilers and Mystics fill that role?   In that game high level mobs would hit so hard that it was almost impossible tanks to melee without debuffing them first.<div></div>

EQ2 is not EQ1.  Debuffs are good, but not that good.  Clerics get a number of debuffs as well. Both Mystics and Defilers debuff fairly well.  Defilers have a slight edge, but its not much. <div></div>
