I was down in SolE trying to get to the NPC for my first Relic piece (yay). Anyways, so as I was running by some of the ghost guys near the elevator on the first level I realized I had started fighting, and I didn't know until I saw that my doggie was being hit.  Well all of sudden two groups of ghosties start charging me and I'm like W-t-f since they are grey. So I run it off and redo doggie, but make sure that he's not in auto protect mode. But lo and behold, as soon as we get to the ghost dudes they aggro the dog. Is this problem in SolE or something to do with the dog? <div></div>

I think I've had issues like that too. Also, in Maj Dul today the doggie went back and attacked a citizen after the citizen had reset.<div></div>

<DIV>The ghost gnomes in Solusek Eye seems to have a built-in script that makes them attack other NPCs that are not themselves, even if they are gray. You can see the "normal" use of the script when they fight the Efreetiis that path in their area, or occasionnally one of the huge Stone guardians if it wanders close enough. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>To my knowledge, it is the only area in the game that does it. I have not encountered it in Maj'Dul yet.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Had a similar issue in Maiden's Gulch. Not the one for 'To Speak as Dragon' starter but the regular one. I realized I wa in the wrong instance and was leaving when the dog got aggroed again by ^^^ mob.  I had not even seen it when I was running around in there, and if it was one of those instances where it's supposed to aggro even if grey then why didn't it aggro me and not the dog. Weird... <div></div>

I can verify that the ghosts in Sol Eye attack my pet when I'm invis. I think they were grayed out to me at the time as well. Irritating to waste a totem charge.

<DIV>If I have to go throu there (I don't anymore thanks to the dreadnever teleporter recently added), I usually dismiss my pet, as everything is gray.</DIV>

<P>The issue I've seen with the doggie pet (I'm a 34 Mystic) ... I call him out, never issue any cmds to him, but he follows well enough. Let's say I attack a group of 5 Orcs, once I'm attacked the pet will start chewing on one of the Orcs, perfect, that's all I need him to do. Then things start going south, so I run away till the Orcs break off. I rest and recover. Now I go find a -different- group or single target and attack them/it. However, my doggie immediately runs off to the first Orc group and attacks them. I have to dismiss him before he actually gets to them though or that first group will of course wipe the doggie and come charging after me.</P> <P>This has happened before and after LU24. Anyone else see something similar? This is a bug isn't it?</P> <P> </P>

Issuing the /pet backoff command should alleviate this.<div></div>

Well I think it's more then just the /pet back off issue.  The pet doesn't lose aggro with the original mobs when you stop fighting them; I have had this happen once as well. The question is did he do pet back off when running or not; or attack off or /yell.  I don't know all the pet issues and this maybe a long running issues with the pet classes that we have inherited. <div></div>

Nope, no cmds or yells, just ran. Dog and encounter followed, encounter breaks, dog stays. Attack next target and he runs off after first grp. I'll try the backoff cmd (if I can remmeber to :-])  and see if that helps. Thx. I should be grateful we even -have- pets that work pretty good - given the mess over in SWG. :smileysad:

One thing you can be sure of is that our problems are the same as a Summoner would have.I strongly recommend putting your pet on perma backoff.  Unlike a Summoner, you don't really want your pet trying to "protect" you.  As I've said before, I use a macro attached to other pet actions to do it.Here are two good ones:When summoning a pet - /usea Summon Spirit Companion/usea Spiritual Foresight/pet backoffAfter any zone line - /usea Aura of Haste/usea Immunities/pet backoff<div></div>

Per the illusionist board this is a definite bug.... the gnomes are attacking any pet.I looked around after almost dying to them gnomes cause pet died and I didn't know if gnomes had a faction.<div></div>

<DIV>Yeah, I was in TT yesterday & got jumped by a group of sentry's, so after I kill the mob I was fighting I broke & ran. I engaged in another mob and killed it, then much to my surprise/dismay, my dog went running after the group I broke from :smileysurprised: </DIV> <DIV>After the third time I did a /bug...then destroyed & resummoned him anytime I had to break encounters</DIV>
