this is just speculation, but since the ward appeared to be functioning properly based upon the rest of the log, I would assume that this was just an error of order...it would seem that the fading of the ward and the damage occurred simultaneously, in choosing which message to log first, the game chose the damage over the spell message

Yes, from that log it sounds like overflow damage (from the last hit while the ward was still up) is logged before logging that the ward has worn off. I have not tested this myself, but should be easy to do.If so, I wouldn't necessarily view the order of logging as wrong. This order would make it easy to differentiate overflow damage from a hit received with no ward up.
