<DIV>Ok guys I need some help. I started playing EQ2 when it first came out and left for awhile due to time constraints. Now im back and theres 2 new expansions and I want to know if I should buy 1 or both of them. My main is a lvl 30 Mystic and he's my favorite character to play. I like to group mostly because we all know soloing with mystics kinda blows <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway I logged on the other day and saw this mystic with a mystic companion and was informed if i purchased the expansion Kos I would get the companion once i leveled. The person I saw told me that it was definitely worth it just for the companion. I need to know if it is indeed worth getting Kos. I also heard that in the new achievement system I wont be getting any points to start with even though I'm level 30? This sounds unfair I'd like to know if this is true and if so how hard it is for a lvl 30 to accumulate the achievement points that someone who leveled to 30 in the new system would have. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway any help would be much appreciated, i also wouldn't mind knowing if you guys think sands of Ro is worth it as well. Thanks for all your time.</DIV>

Desert of Flames isnt needed until about level 45. Kingdom of Sky is really more of a judgement call on your part. Here are the facts (as they pertain to your situation): You must own Kingdom of Sky to earn achievement expirience or achievement abilities. The shaman spirit companion is the first AA for Mystics and Defilers, no KoS, no AA and no spirit companion. The spirit companion is of some use, but he is certainly not make or break. Its a minor DPS boost and a friend, thats it. If you plan on reaching level 50 within say the next three months, I would say it would probably be a good idea to buy KoS now, and Desert of Flames when you reach level 45. <div></div>

<DIV>Thanks for the info, what about the achievement points? is it hard to earn the pints that a lvl 30 should have?</DIV>

No one earns achievement points until level 20 and owning KoS. Missing out on 20-30 really isnt that big of a deal. Remember, AAs are new to KoS. This means that LOTS of players leveled up to 60 without them perfectly fine, and the monsters havent been made any harder after that time. The AAs are marginally helpful, but FAAAAAAAAAAAR from gamebreaking. If you can afford Kingdom of Sky and plan to ever have a character above level 60, you may as well buy it now. If you are tight on cash, its not going to hurt you much if at all. <div></div>

Skip DoF if you can, its entirely possible. Only get it if you want that free carpet, and some aa discovery haha. Oh, and if you want the one HQ from it ...... other then that, on my alt, I was in everfrost until 54 soling heroics for near 1% a kill, then straight to TT to do quests there for another 2 lvls, then sanctum. worked well

Yes, it is entirely "possible" to skip over DoF. But it is a very well made expansion pack (after all the fixes since it was released). It can be a whole lot of fun, and there are a TON of quests to do for fun and achievement expirience. As I see it, if you try to skip over DoF, all you are doing is setting yourself to get left out when someone says "Hey lets go do X zone in DoF". Then you are either going to A) Not be able to go B) Buy the expansion so you can go, delaying you 15 minutes, only to hit yourself for not just buying it earlier <div></div>

Aye, I think it's crazy to skip DoF. The itemization there is pretty good, quests, AA, etc.And it won't be grossly overcrowded as some KoS spots can be. I had SC all to myself a couple nights ago whacking thru a couple old quests.<div></div>

<DIV>It would be a very bad move to skip DoF. There is a huge amount of quest content to do there, and, in your high 40's / low 50's, it's where you'll get your groups.</DIV><p>Message Edited by rollando on <span class=date_text>05-12-2006</span> <span class=time_text>09:38 AM</span>
