I'm a paladin, and I duo a lot with my sister, who is a Mystic, and we developed a good technique for pulling one mob out of a group without getting unwanted social aggro. She sends her dog in to "fetch" the mob. She uses implied targetting through me, with a macro like:
/say "Rover, fetch the bad thing for %T"/pet attack
Meanwhile, I'm waiting for Rover to get back with his "fetch" close enough that I can hit with Omen of Battle or Decree or whatever long-range thing I can reach it with. As it gets closer I use taunt, taunt, strike, etc.You can stand way far back away from the mobs using this pet pull and Rover gets the mob out from the others far enough that I can hit it with anything in my arsenal without pulling all the mob's little friends in as well. (Note to self: stop by Qeynos Harbor and buy Rover a doggie treat... maybe one of the fish vendors....)So anyway, this got me to thinking, what other macros do Mystics use? As a tank, I have pulling macros and group movement and positioning macros set up.... but what kinds of things do Mystics use for hotkey macros?

To be hones I haven't used too many macros. I know I should but I'm lazy I guess. However, I did create one recently for the WIS AP line, because it was pain to do it by hand. There is short duration AA spell called ritual that help's to heal for a certain % more when it's up. So it's essentially: Big Heal Button: /usea ritual /usea Small heal button: /usea ritual /usea Of course a 'symbol' item has to be in secondary for it to work. But works great in groups and raids, and I don't have to worry about punching the ritual button before the heal.

My most used macro (well macro pair) would have to be for using Oberon /raid Oberon up on %T! I am stunned. /g Oberon up on %T! I am stunned. /usea Oberon then when it wears off /raid Oberon down. /g Oberon down. /usea Sacred Aegis Also, the tactic of using the dog in that way is called "Pet Pulling" and works with almost any pet. This tactic has been used since the days of EQ1.

I haven't used a macro since they ruined the unequip command's usefulness :smileytongue:.I used to have one for Oberon, and I even had one with Ritual embeded in my big heal, but they never really helped or improved my gameplay. Oberon I don't use very often anyway.Making a macro is a tradeoff - you may save some space by removing the abilities within the macro off of your hotbars, but the refresh times for these abilities are no longer visible, and I find that very annoying as a healer. On the other hand you can leave the original spells/abilities on your hotbar and just put the macro for them on your primary bars, but that just takes up more space, and as someone who uses lots of well organized hotbars, more taking up space sucks too.
