<div>I started a mystic a couple weeks back and I am seeing so many problems in end game on the boards that I am thinking of restarting a new Defiler before I spend too much time on the character. I enjoy the ward style preventative damage and I am seeing that it may be more fortuituos to go to the dark side.</div><div> </div><div>Here is my question:</div><div> </div><div>I see all of these issues being brought up, but i have not seen any feedback from the developers what so ever (besides a very few "I have spoken with a developer posts -- which I don't like cause, really, who are you?). This disturbs me, I don't like surprises and this is THE major issue that has forced me to abandon other MMO's in the past. Could one of you help me and let me know if feedback has occured and if so how is it being communicate to the players?</div><div> </div><div>Thanks.</div>

<div></div>MMORPG's balance of power is a cyclical thing. Play what you want not what is more powerful because by the time you get there it may change full circle.

<div></div>Both mystics and defilers are equally viable in the end game.

<div></div><div></div><p>Thank you for the prompt response. However, the question was not about power, and while it is nice to hear from higher level people about viability, my interest, and question, was about developer feed-back. Am I missing a board, are the issues being acknowledged by the developers? Are the developers working with the players or is this game another that runs more like a dictatorship.</p><p>I hope I was more clear this time.</p><p>Message Edited by Dargrot on <span class="date_text">03-16-2006</span><span class="time_text">10:37 AM</span></p>

There are some underlying mechanics that Shaman's share, and that what's broken for one could be broken for the other. As for end game...that's like years away. Make a character that you ENJOY, wether it be Mystic or Defiler, or another priest class. Plus problems are always going to be there. Keep in mind that in the last Six months SoE has completely reengineered whole aspects of the game that many different classes are still dealing with; An active and healthy board with people participating shouldn't discourage you, rather it should encourage as there are people willing to figure out and help each other.Even if there is some sibling rivalries <span>:smileywink:</span></span><div></div>

Blackguard has already responded to two threads. But you have to understand that DEVs don't have ANY reason to answer any threads on these forums. Rather the best system is the in game /feedback and /bug tools. Other's have posted in other threads here that when they do the /feedback and /bug that get response back stating that the issue is known and is being worked on; How quickly is going to be dependent on SoE's priorities for the game.</span><div></div>

If it is broken now, in a few months it will be fixed. If it works now, in a few months it will be broken. So you are better to go with something that is broken now. That said, at level 53, my mystic doesn't feel broken. There are some "issues" (such as group wards acting strange sometimes), but nothing that prevents me from playing. I don't raid, so can't comment on that.<div></div>

I admire the defliers I have grouped with but I doubt switching to them is a viable option. You will find problems with certain points of thier lines as well.Take it form someone who has been playing these games since they were call MUD's and you had to have access to a UNIX mainframe to play them. Patches come and go. Most of the bugs we see are just changes in the weather for us. at present we are partially cloudy but we have seen our sunny days as far as a gaming stand point goes. When we hit patches like this, say with our Attendant line not working, we make do and work without it till it is fixed.I am far form the highest Mystic on this board, my ole Rat is only 63 at present but I still get picked for groups just as much, if not more than say, a Templar does. You can be good at any class and any class is viable at end game as long as you learn to play the class as you go along. One thing I have noticed with the Mystic/Defiler groups is save for a few of the whiners we are a quiet group only posting in logical posts to get the dev's attentions. The Old Addage "You can cath more flies with honey" goes along way here. However Al Capone's saying "You can get more accomplished with a kind word and a gun than just a kind word alone" aslo could come into play if we were not all nerds and feared the sunlight so much. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<div></div><p>I have gotten my mystic to 30 now and am enjoying him tremendously. This is what counts. I also get tells asking if I am in a group from people I have grouped with (w/o LFG up), so I have decided that:</p><p>a) I am doing my job as a group healer well.</p><p>b) Its the player that makes the difference, not the specific class.</p><p>c) I will be sticking with the Mystic.</p><p>Of course I am a firm believer that people will do what they want/need in life that is best for them, and this, alas, means that they often have to figure it out for themselves.</p><p> </p><p>Thank you all for all of your feedback.</p>
