<div>Hiya, folks! :smileyhappy:</div><div> </div><div>First, I apologize if this is a tired subject, but I'm just too darned old to wade thru page after page of very specific threads looking for some general summary info.</div><div> </div><div>So, I just deleted my 53 Templar 'cause he was just no fun to play any more. Well, he was okay in groups, but solo-ing was so incredibly slow it was almost unbearable. I need to be able to enjoy solo-ing at least a little bit, 'cause I end up doing it a lot due to available playing time. More and more, lately, I'd just been logging my Monk, as he's quite a bit more fun to play.</div><div> </div><div>My question is this: Can a Mystic function reasonably well in the Three Great Realms of EQ2? That is, are Mystics fun and functional in Solo, Group, and Raid contexts? I don't want to walk away from one frustration and straight into another. And I'd really like to play a Mystic, as I spent several years playing a Shaman in EQ1 (as my board name suggests) and really enjoyed it.</div><div> </div><div>Thanks!</div>

Solo: As bad as a Templar.Group: As good as any other priest.Raid: Good, but expect to not be in the MT group as defilers buff HPs more. All in all, to answer your question, no mystic is not the solution to your problems. Mystics and Templars are quite well balanced, just with different flavor. Try looking into fury.(( I love my mystic, but I am able to accept not being able to solo to a degree. This isnt saying mystics are a bad class, we just have limits, which are fairly analogous to the limits that frustrated this player on thier Templar))<div></div>

<div></div><p>Hiya Tukk</p><p>It sounds like we might be about the same age.</p><p>I have only one character...level 65 Mystic and while enjoy playing him at this stage of the game, I don't think he is satisfying as a solo character. I did solo him to about level 43, but due to the fact that as I ventured into new zones and lands I was constantly confronted with MOBs that slowed me down to a crawl...if went harvesting I was jumped and had to fight to live, thus taking several minutes or more to move back to the node I was working on (if it hadn't been stolen by a dps type while i was fighting)...and I think the Templar has better dps than the Mystic. It gets worse at the level that I am now...soloing for me is a thing of the past.</p><p>I enjoy grouping the most now as I seem to feel more useful and a more integral part of my little part of the world in Norratth.</p><p>If I were going to start a new character and wanted to be involved in raiding I would look at the distribution of classes on my server, choose the one that there are fewer of, but that offers certain gameplay characteristics that would be specifically useful in the raiding scene.</p><p> </p><p>Purcupile</p><p>65 Mystic</p><p>Kithicor</p><p> </p>

Dirge, Troubador, Illusionist and Coercer. Can hardly go wrong with any of those if you want to be valuable in end game raiding.Unfortunately, I've also just named the four hardest to level classes in the game.<div></div>

<div></div><p>Solo: If you know what you are doing, yes Mystics are good soloers. There are not many 1 up whites or even yellow mobs at 60 I cannot fight. I still struggle if the thing is another shaman class with a hyperactive ward.</p><p>Group: about as same as Templar here. Sometimes a bit better sometimes a bit worse. This all depends on the group you are hunting with and how smart or stupid the other people in group are.</p><p>Raid..cant really say not a big guild and we dont hunt that often in raid format.</p>

Since every solo group mob apparently has some way of interrupting your spells you're going to find it slow and boring (as I do). You're not likely to get much support in this forum as a soloer either. Most of the posters here are raiders or groupers so don't expect your issues as a soloer to be given any attention.

I find that mystics solo well on individual mobs since most of our spells are single-target. Groups of mobs can be a bit of a problem, however. At 53, I can kill any solo mob that is yellow and some low orange mobs. It might take a while, but I am usually not in danger and end most fights at full health.<div></div>

<div></div><div>If you want to have alot of fun and solo alot, stick with your monk. Brawlers one of best soloers in game and i find them extremely fun to play. However i enjoy nothing more than playing my Mystic IN A GROUP. Raids can get boring and soloing well if you have 10 minutes to spend on one mob go for it <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ! lol</div>

But it didnt change much then. Thousands upon thousands of posts and we got Slothful Spirit and Dogdog. Thats it. You may not believe it, but we've fought the good fight for you for some time, and the devs just didnt give results in that area. So we've started to focus time on the areas that they do listen to.At this point, if <i>you </i>want the fight to continue, <i>you </i>need to pick up the torch and lead the crusade.Banditman has said time and again that his is willing to forward through his channels well constucted threads with real data and real options to the powers that be. Just stating that we solo too slow, and having a bunch of folks agree isnt going to change the devs mind. When the devs do respond, they respond to numbers and data.</span><div></div>
