<div></div><div></div>Greetings all! I just restarted playing EQ2 after i quit the game over a year ago <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Now i already have my 14 scout/hunter but i was thinking of making a mystic (always was fascinated by the EQ1 Shamans). I have read the boards and i understand the main difference between the priest healing types, and i think that wards will suit my playstyle as a healer. Now after that rant on to my questions heh <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />1) How do you pre-ward (i read pre-warding on forums and had to ask this) and is it recommended?2) What artisan is best suited for a mystic? I am planning on taking one but which one is better? Both for making money and personal use.3) Defilers get that Cannibalize spell... Do mystics get any sort of power regen?4) I know this is not a class specific question but i saw a new edit appearance in character selection. The normal one and SvoG appearance (or something similar) which is only allowed to be modified once... How do you activate the new looks? Thanks in advance for your help.<div></div><p>Message Edited by Llaien on <span class="date_text">01-09-2006</span><span class="time_text">07:32 PM</span></p>

Welcome back to EQ2!To answer your questions ...1) How do you pre-ward (i read pre-warding on forums and had to ask this) and is it recommended?Pre-warding is when you ward the tank before the pull. Now that our wards generate hate in proportion to the amount of damage they absorb (aka first hit), I find that pre-warding will often get the mob running for me and not the tank, so I generally don't do it. If your tank pulls with a taunt (my normal one doesn't) that might mitigate that initial hate.2) What artisan is best suited for a mystic? I am planning on taking one but which one is better? Both for making money and personal use.Well. .. it depends. Every class will say that another class makes more money. As for which one is good for you, well I can really only speak about the 3 I have. Alchemist is great for making your own potions (power regen & resists mainly). Sage is good for making your own spells. Provisioner is good for making your own food/drink but is more time consuming IMO than the others to make what you need. They all level about the same.3) Defilers get that Cannibalize spell... Do mystics get any sort of power regen?See above note about potions. Unless we get something at higher levels (I'm only 50) I'm not aware of any power regen that we get.I'm afraid I can't help you on the looks thing ... I haven't played with it yet.If you're looking at Mystic vs. Defiler, don't forget that your class selection will determine what city you belong to. Mystics are Qeynos, Defilers are Freeport.

Can also sell scout skills for cash.  Jewelry (crafted and otherwise) is usually pretty slim on the wisdom, so crafted usually works just as well as the other stuff you could get.Provisioner   Always can use drink.  Drink sells very well.  A bit easier than other tradeskills, but takes a bit more time. Fuels are cheaper.Sage      Can make all your own apprentice 4s, as well as adept 3s when you get the rares.  Can sell spells to mages and priests.Tailor     Can make bags and leather armor for yourself.  A little more useless than the chain an armorsmith would take, but not by much.  Bags sell pretty well.Weaponsmith   Usually only need 1 weapon per tier.Woodworker   Can make wooden weapons and shields.  The shields are generally the best non-fabled you can get for priests.  Even so, you're only equipping two of your slots. Can also make totems, which can be a good source of money after level 30ish.</span><div></div><p>Message Edited to incorporate <a target="_blank" href="../view_profile?user.id=113546"><span>Sillililygirl</span></a>'s point about totems.  Thanks for reminding me.<span class="time_text"></span></p><p>Message Edited by Eepop on <span class="date_text">01-09-2006</span><span class="time_text">01:54 PM</span></p>

With respect to the most useful artisan class, Eepop rates Sage very high.   I don't do any crafting, but my experience on Faydark (currently 46 mystic) is that spells are never hard to find on the broker at a reasonable price but that good drink is often hard to find.  In fact, I use store-bought drink most of the time as that is all I can find.  I have never tried potions so don't know how useful they are. Therefore, I would recommend provisioner as almost everything else is easy to find on the broker.<div></div>

The savings making your own adept 3s can be fairly significant.  I may be a bit biased because my mystic is a sage.I did rate provisioners pretty high too. Although everything is based on my perspective. While drink is very powerful, if you have a bard, enchanter, or second priest in your group, mana is rarely a problem.  Any one of those and store drink is just fine. In my normal group, I have all three of those, a troubador, illusionist, and templar, so most of the time I dont need drink at all. There are certainly playstyles that make drink more useful, but in most situations npc drink will do.  It only works out of combat anyway, so having a little less regen usually doesnt make a difference. And if you are in a group where you are out of power and everyone else is ready to go, the group(or you) is probably doing something wrong.I value drink highly, but the greatest percentage of a characters potency comes from thier spells.<div></div>

I would not notice any problems with drink soloing because I am fairly anti-solo these days.My equipment is specialized highly towards grouping.  As such, mystic's low base DPS is all I have to work with when I am soloing...which makes me really not want to solo.I can understand that good drink would be useful when soloing though.<div></div>

Missed an important part of woodworkers: totems.Woodworkers can make totems (they are like potions in ways) that will regen health and power, invis, grant spirit of the wolf, grant underwater breathing. You can definitely make money off of these..........though the good totems don't come until level 30+.<div></div>

<div>Silly,  got it on woodworkers...Totems.  Each guild make up is different.  Make your choice given all the facts that your guild may be able to provide SAGE / ALCHEMY or other highly needed crafts (Food and Drink).</div><div> </div><div>I chose Woodworker for the simple fact of INVIS totems.  But, you need to make those choices given your current makeup.</div>
