Ok, hopefully I'm not gonna proceed to talk out my rear end here, since I've only used Oberon a handful of times, usually in situations that are so chaotic perhaps I'm not fully aware. However....

I believe what is confusing you is the graphical effect for the spell. When you cast it on someone you ALSO receive the "warded teepee" effect, sort of like you are tied together in this spell. This would be correct, considering the lore of the spell, in that you are silenced completely and regenrating hitpoints back into the ward. The easiest way to check if the spell is on the correct target is to mouseover the spell when it's up in your maintained spell window. It should read "Target: XXXXX" or something similar. Hope this is both correct and that it helps, do a trial run on a buddy in your group some time.

That about covers it Psolumn. With particles on it does look like your target and yourself (if different) are being warded by Oberon, but what really happens is you're just being stifled and rooted in place for the duration of the spell or untill u cancel it.

Thanks for the replys but when I do mouse over the icon for the spell in the maintaned window. It tells me that Drif is the target (witch is me not the MT). I hope there is a cure for this.

My advice, though not specific to this spell, is to check out the modded maintained spell bars, available at eq2interface.com. Most of them have the spell, target name, and remaining duration. Works wonders for seeing who is buffed, warded, whatever.

There is no "cure" because there is no issue with this spell, although it has elements that can be difficult to understand. It has effects being maintained on both you and your target. You're just going to have to pay attention to your target and the spell graphics when you cast the spell, and be satisfied in that the spell is working as intended and warding your target as it should be.

If for some reason the warding is going on you and not the tank, the problem is almost certainly your targetting.
