<DIV>Ok, I had a chat with a Warden guildie today in SCx2 area about a certain elemental debuff/DoT/something else that WILL NOT come off, for him or myself.  Has anyone else noticed this?  I have tried to get my tank to identify this on his side, but to no avail.  Some elemental stuff will come off, there just seems to be one (or maybe more, I really don't know) that will not come off no matter how much cure spamming I do.  I only have Ancient Balm at Adept 1 and the zero recast Elemental Cure, but that Warden can't get it off either.  I assume it's a "misplaced decimal point" type of problem on SoE's side, like it's labelled level 600 instead of 60 or misspelled as "elmental" and it's not catching the cure, but I thought I'd come ask other Mystics before I /bugged the thing.</DIV>

I've experienced this with many effect, usually from named epic/boss type mobs, though. I'm thinking they were flagged to be uncurable, as we've had people try with master group cures (99 levels) with no success.I for one would like to see some benefit to having these types of spells at master, or honestly adept 3, as I really don't see it atm.<div></div>

I am willing to bet the spell you couldn't cure was blaze, a sorcerer spell.  For some reason that spell is just not curable, no clue why <div></div>

as for me, its sounds strange. why ancient balm, that "Cures all impairments types" doesnt do that. some mobs do really nice stuns that lasts for 30-40 seconds, and its non cureable.

Dirty Tricks falls under the elemental catagory, and is nearly impossible to cure.  Yea, the Scout ability.

Ok, so now that I know it is a gamewide problem, I guess I'm a little confused as to what the correct course of action is.  Do you feel it is a bug and that it should definitely be curable?  Or that it is "working as intended" and that it's part of the game?

What I have observed is that an elemental effect from a caster type can be removed easily but one from a CA such as the scout art mentioned cannot. <div></div>

<DIV>Is there actually any proof that having "Ancient Balm" at Adept III or Master I really has any added curing ability? (I have it at Adept 1, myself).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've also observed "elemental" effects that I couldn't cure, so this explains some of that.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But what about "Charm"? If a mob charms your groupmate it is not curable (at least not by me). I guess "Charm" is not like other mental impairments? For anyone who has gone after Spiregaze, you know what I'm talking about.</DIV>

The stated number of "levels" does increase from Ad1 to Ad3.  With some careful testing you could probably find out whether that is translating to an actual increase in effectiveness.

<P>I have also seen these uncurable effects, usually elemental though a few times I've run up on an arcane one as well and my ancient balm is adept 3.</P> <P>As for the use of upgrading...  curing multiples in a single cast is the main reason.  Every effect seems to have a set amount of "counters" needed to cure it and if you don't have enough cure levels left after that cure is applied the effect will need another cast to be cured.  The number required to cure an effect doesn't seem to be purely based on the mob's level either.  Back when my balm was only adept 1 I almost NEVER saw it cure more than 2 effects even when the tank had a lot more than that on them.  Since the adept 3 upgrade however there have been occasions where I have wiped 5 effects in one cast, which never happened with the adept 1.</P>

<div></div>I've never been able to dispell any elemental effect.  Lately I don't even bother trying.   Are there, in fact, some elemental effects that CAN be dispelled by <strike>a mystic</strike> anyone?  Or is the dispel elemental effects (whatever it's called) ability not worth having on the spellbar?[EDIT: amended to reflect that this isn't just a mystic issue]<div></div><p>Message Edited by Zotar99 on <span class="date_text">01-16-2006</span><span class="time_text">11:37 AM</span></p>

This isn't Mystic specific (see a similar thread <a target="_blank" href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=14&message.id=6854">here</a> for Inquisitors).   All cures work the same for all healers.  The only difference is which combination you get for your group cures (and possibly the level you get your ST cures at as well).<div></div>

<div></div>Interesting problem.  I noticed this happening yesterday in RoV against the Servants of Varsoon ^^^ and 2x^^ you encounter just before the golems.  Sometimes it works, most of the time it does not.  Curious if a higher level mystic/healer were to attempt to remove that particular one if it would work or not.
