I've been gone for about 4 months and could really use some advice conerning spells. I'm a 51st Mystic with pretty good gear. All spells are adept 1, what are the best spells to upgrade to Ad3s and/or masters please? Also, what rares will i need for each upgrade. All help very much appreciated. Thanks

In my opinion...

Must-Have Adept 3s: Torpor, Scream of the Ancients, Weeping Haze, both direct heals, and all your buffs (minus Prophetic Aegis) (and not in that order)

Nice-to-Have Adept 3s: Umbral Attendant, group ward, both DoTs

The thing about "Which spells should I upgrade" queries is that, in general, everyone will play their Mystic differently. Do you raid every night? Do you solo mostly? Do you duo/trio mostly? With what class(es)? This alone will steer you toward the more correct choices FOR YOU, hence MY list above. Personally, I was slow to level, because I harvested constantly for rares, for fear that SoE was going to nerf them back to "early ebon" levels. Therefore, I have 16 Adept 3s (some replaced by Master 1s recently). If you only can find 2 or 3 pearls or vanadiums (answers your other question), then PERSONALLY I would stick with what I have listed in "Must-Haves" above. But, again, that's just me....

BTW, if you didn't know, the single-target ward is given as an option at level 54 at Master 2, so I wouldn't reserve one rare for that. The M2 ward is incredible.

I agree mostly, you want (need tbh) adept 3 buffs and heals. If you raid alot you will need to have adpet3 debuffs in my opinion also.

I would make the argument to include the group ward in the 'must have' list as well, but maybe not before the direct heals and Torpor. Now that wards serially absorb damage, stacking Umbral Sacrament with Sacred Aegis makes for an awesome warding combination when things get ugly. And obviously, the Adept 3/Master 1 of Umbral Sacrament is significantly better than the Adept 1. And, as mentioned, Sacred Aegis is definitely the choice to take for your 54 Master 2 upgrade. IMHO, you cannot go wrong upgrading your direct heals and class-specific flavored specialty heals (wards) first.

I have a similiar question. I was actually logging on to ask this question when I saw this thread.

I am level 45...soon to be 46. I have leveled these last 5 levels in less than 3 weeks. I also was wondering about adept III's. I was going to have some made for the 40-50 levels, but i have been moving at a pretty quick rate and I understand that the spells from 47 on are the spells that will be around until the next expansion so since I am nearly to 46 I would probably want to only get Adept III's made for those 47+ levels.

About my play style: I mostly soloed until level 38, and then it was both grouping and soloing until 40/41 now it is mostly pickup groups of which I have been pretty fortunate in hooking up with some pretty formidable groups gaining good XP especially in Sinking Sands and Runneye. I anticipate as I progress I will start raiding as well as grouping. I don't very often duo or small group, but when I do it is usually not a real tough MOB.

There are a number of places I have never been...in fact I have only been to Commonlands for J Boots, Feerott 2 times, Nek, 6 or 7 times, Zek several times, Enchanted lands only to get to Runnyeye...then of course the obvious.

So knowing all this about me what would be the 10 or 12 spells I should get Adept III's for in order from level 47 if you don't mind. This is my only character but money is not a real problem as I have been moderately successful tradeskilling.

Thanks

Purcupile

In my opinion, I would say the advice given so far would still apply to you. As a healer, if you are going to be grouping more (and in my opinion, I think you'll find that, now that Mystics are very capable healers, you will have no problems finding groups and it sounds like you already have proof of that), your primary tools for healing (wards and direct heals) will serve you well being upgraded. Having said that, and considering you said money's not too much of an issue, if it were me, I would still upgrade the tier 5 wards/direct heals since that makes you a better healer now. Rubies and Rhodium are not terribly expensive, and you can always harvest your own with relative ease. And, keep in mind, not everything is replaced all at once, so the tier 5 spells that you got/get before 47 will still be usable well into your 50's, making them that much more compelling to upgrade, in my opinion. If you think you're going to be racing to 60 and gaining levels every couple of days or something, it could be a waste since they will indeed be replaced eventually as you level, but if you want to make the most of your healing capabilities and be the best healer you can be at the present, I don't think you can go wrong by upgrading your core healing tools. I am 60 now, but what I did when I was in my 40's was mainly upgrade my wards and direct heals (this was mostly before the expansion) - I didn't concentrate on nukes or buffs/debuffs too much since money was tight and I grouped mostly. So, that would be my advice for now: upgrade the wards (I assume you took either the single target or group ward Master 2 upgrade at 44) and both direct heals now (I would include Shadowy Attendant in that list too since it is great now, and isn't replaced until 59, and possibly the group heal) and then plan to do the same thing as they're replaced as you level in your 50's. Sorry if this is kind of non-specific, but hope it helps...
