I am currently 29 soon to be 30 and I've just recently harvested rough jasper. I was just wondering what in the spell list, 20-29; any of you would recommend upgrading to adept 3. I have most of my spells at adept 1 (or at least try 2).

I am planning on going with runic shield for my lvl 34 training.

I was thinking of going with the small heal I just got at 29 but would like some feedback.

Thanks for any input you may have. :robotvery-happy:

I would go with Ancestral Ward unless you have better and then i would do Wards of shadow.
Message Edited by paisan on 11-29-2005 12:42 PM

Do you happen to know (could be hard to find out if you're at work like myself) how much Ancestral wards for at adept 3?

Regardless of what the actual number is, your Ward will always be your "biggest" heal. ST Ward ST Heals Those are your big ticket items as a healer.

I've been pleading with the guild graphic designer that did my sig to shadow a lil somethin somethin on there but need to find/consult the guild lawyer to see if there is an arseless chaps clause in the EULA. Might be a homeland security issue as well... something about a weapon of mass destruction...

There are a lot of different "quality levels" to spells.Currently in the game, these spell levels exist: Apprentice 1, Apprentice 2, Apprentice 3, Apprentice 4, Adept 1, Adept 3, Master 1, Master 2. There is a lot of talk about where the Adept 2 and Master 3 spells might come from in the future, but the Devs have been completely silent about it officially. Right now, they don't exist. From Level 1 to Level 50, whenever you gain a level, you automatically receive spells of the lowest quality level, Apprentice 1. These spells "work", but are often only a mere shadow of the true power they are intended to be.For instance, if you receive a nuke at L14, it might list out as doing 20 - 30 points of damage when you receive that initial Apprentice 1 version. However, if you can find, buy or otherwise aquire the Master 1 version of the same spell, it might do 50 - 70 points of damage. Upgrading is good. Upgrade as much as you are reasonably able. Now, here's the key:Adept 3 spells are typically very close in power to Master level spells. There is virtually no difference between Master 1 and Master 2. However, Master spells are EXCEEDINGLY rare (at least before last night, which I expect to be patched back out). So, how does one aquire an Adept 3?That's where the Jasper comes in.There are certain gems and metals which Alchemists and Sages are able to process into special inks and subsequently create Adept 3 level spells from this ink. Jasper is one of those gems.Different gems correspond to different tiers of spells, a tier being a 10 level range. I'm sure someone will come along and give you the full list of ink yielding metals and gems here shortly, but the top 3 tiers are: Tier 4, Opal and Ruthenium (might be palladium, don't remember for sure) . . . Tier 5, Ruby and Rhodium . . . Tier 6, Pearl and Vanadium. Anyway, I'm sure someone has them all memorized.Hope that helps.

Cool stuff, ty banditman. I understand now, so basically i should save my rares, as they are pretty valuable. I am pretty sure i have three in bank, and now i am hoping that one or more of them are what i need to upgrade my spells. Many Thanks for the explanation, most helpfull
