Hey all, What subject says, what is the most usefull tradeskill for a Mystic to do. I was thinking of making my own spells(scholer i think), but i am not sure that is the best. Cheers <div></div>

*Disclaimer* - I have not tradeskilled since the recent experience rate changes. I found that tradeskilling was simply too time consuming in light of my own goals, regardless of what particular field you might choose. I wanted to have a high level Mystic. For the first 38 levels worth, I kept my tradeskill and adventure levels equal. At that point, I realized that it was taking me about three times as long as it took someone just leveling one side. The crossover between adventuring and tradeskilling is just too much wasted time for any but the most dedicated. I've never had a problem getting spells at any level, or any other tradeskilled item for that matter. The question you must ask is "Am I willing to spend two to three times as long leveling as everyone else?"

<DIV>I agree with Bandit. When I hit 60 I started really working trades. I chose Woodworker, simply because my guild needed it. If I have to do it again...I would choose Alchem. Anyway, that is my point, aside from the /respec you get with chemistry and I think brewing/provisioning.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mystt</DIV>

Tradeskilling is pretty ineffective unless you have a market. For me this means my guild. Its usually on a barter basis and not a buying basis, but the idea still holds. If you want to succeed as a tradeskiller, you need a support structure. At this point as a starting tradeskiller you have to be pretty saavy. The market until T5 is pretty slim pickings, you have to be able to find what people want and need. I've got 3 tradeskillers (50 sage, 50 Alchemist, and 49 Tailor) and I can tell you, I would not have made it this far with even one of them had it not been for the cooperation of my guild. Tradeskilling isnt a get rich quick scheme, especially for a solo person. <div></div>

Thanks for the tips, I am more intersted in knowning if there is anything that mystics use that are hard to get, tradeskill wise. Am not so worried about earning extra income, as money is not that hard to get, i quite enjoy farming. If it helps i will be duoing with a close friend (monk) almost exclusively, so we can learn two tradeskills that can work together. (please don't let this turn into a duoing thread, he is a monk, i am a mystic, end of), hopefully another good friend is joining us soon so we can hopefully work three tradeskills together. p.s. i played eq2 for three months at release, and stopped, and now have just resigned up, and alot has changed, there is soooo much stuff i have no idea about. <div></div>

<P>As far as Tradeskill usefullness goes. Don't do it because it's useful, do it because you actually enjoy doing it or you will be miserable everytime you zone into a TS instance. </P> <P>Not all TS are created equal. Some are fun for some folks and some are dull as dirt. There is profit to be made from any to of the TS if you watch the market.</P> <DIV>My main is a 60 provisioner/52 mystic. I've got a 54 sage alt and a 53 armorer alt. Couple more in the works. I throughly enjoy all of them (except when 15 different people want me to make several stacks of food/drink each /shudder), or I never would have bothered getting them as high as they are. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you don't actually enjoy tradeskilling, you can find what you need on the market or at least find people who can make what you need. I have found that mailing people and asking them about their products to be a good way of starting up a business relationship with the folks who market their wares. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I don't know if there is any particular TS class that would be most useful to a mystic, I know alchemist would likely be one the least useful (unless you just have to have your potions RIGHT NOW), right up there with carpenter. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Others, depending on what you can find pretty readily from friends/guildmates/the market and what things you tend to use/spend the most money on are pretty much created equal, though sage and provisioner would probably get the most use if you wanted to depend only on yourself for some things. </DIV>

You will not have any problems finding tradeskilled items. Many people leveled tradeskills after they hit the 50 level cap, and more will do the same thing at the 60 as well. Being as far behind the curve as you seem to be, I would personally invest my time in leveling the adventure side to cap as quickly as possible.

<P>The problem with armorers and woodworkers is that you end up having to be 9 levels higher in your tradeskill to take maximum advantage of rare imbued items if you want to make them for yourself. So to have the nicest set of crafted stuff at level 30, you would have to have your tradeskill at level 39. I'm not sure how this works for sages, but I'm pretty sure that Jewelers have similar issues. When you hit Tier 5 harvesting gets exponentially more difficult in terms of mob aggro too--there aren't many relatively safe places to harvest. </P> <P>If you choose a tradeskill class and decide that you don't enjoy it all that much or find it useful then you can always start an alt to try a different tradeskill. After I started my provisioner and carpenter, my woodworker didn't seem much fun at all anymore... so once I dinged 37 and could make invis totems I put the woodworker on the shelf. Up until when the level 30 recipe pristine discovery experience is gone it goes incredibly fast, so no harm in picking a class like scholar/sage if that appeals to you and trying it out.</P> <P>Shopping around and joining a guild that has a healthy number of high level tradeskillers will help out alot in getting gear and spells made. As I leveled up, however, common crafted stuff always seemed to be on the broker for very reasonable prices. I just bug the tradeskillers in my guild when I want a rare item made and buy the common stuff.</P>

ty for the tips and advice. I may well go with Provisioner, as i am in a fairly big zerg guild (best type of guild imo when you leveling) i can sell the food/drink fairly easily. Many Thanks <div></div>
