I can refrain from being horribly annoyed that I spent a rare on it if I have the comfort that it is no worse than any other classes power-drain.</DIV> <DIV><BR>I've never played a class that had a power drain before so I have no baseline comparison. I cannot speak for anyone else but I was very happy when I first read about this spell since it was one of the few times we received a completely new kind of spell that wasn't just an upgrade from the same basic lines. Unfortunately I'm not that familiar with the power draining spells of other classes either. I know that troubadors and prolly chanters had power drain spells that used to be a hell of a lot more potent then they are now, but they were tweaked down along with the rate of raid mob power regen being increased, so that basically you can never drain the power completely from a mob you'd really like to. I was a little disappointed to learn that the "intended" rate of power drain in SS was almost 30% less then it was, but I feel that this spell's main purpose is just some added damage, which we're rather short on comparitively. I haven't yet come accross a mob that both chain cast spells that cost tons of power and then kindly waited till SS refreshed to be reapplied once the first application's charges were used up.

<P>This shouldn't even be considered a power DRAIN really, the extra power usage will only ever come into play in pvp and when solo'n those blasted annoying cleric mobs. I can drop a mob's ward, or outdamage the regens they use but mobs that use reactives NEVER die till their OOP with me. /sigh</P> <P>Mainly what this spell does (and very well IMO) is give us a bit more damage, and a LOT more damage in the right situations. Now that I have it I have much less to complain about dps wise when I go it alone. Solo'n isn't nearly as slow as it was before.</P>

Turn off auto-attack on the clerics or you will keep triggering the reactive. They are still a pain but not nearly as bad when you do this.

If you use the frames con system, they have added a section to the target window that lists the effects on your target. When soloing cleric mobs, watch for the reactive icon, and use that time to heal yourself/debuff/etc, then when they do not have that icon on, nuke them. <div></div>

Even with that added functionality i can't bring myself to use the "new" con system.

Just read today that its supposedly being added to the old con system too. I also like the old con system better, but the new UI they made was cutting off some of the arrows for some reason so i thought I would at least check out the newer con system. <div></div>

lol....leave it to SOE's bait an trade tatics... i need to talk in caps so i can read this better, if ya hear yelling in your head, i suggest seeing a shrink! FIRST HEARD ABOUT THIS IN DEV THREAD, WHICH I LOST THE LINKY TO IN BOOKMARKS, BUT STATED THEY WERE GOING TO MAKE IT DRAIN THE MANA AT STATED RATE WHEN THEY CAST/COMBART ON US. NOT CHANGE OUR SPELL DESCRIPTION TO BALL PARK THEIR FIGURE OF MANA DRAIN ON THE MOB....SILLY JUST DAM SILLY, ANOTHER NERF BAT BLUDGEONING TO SHAMAN LINES....I'VE LEARNED TO LIVE AN LEAVE THIS GAME OVER THIS "FIX AN BALANCE" STRIFE. ONLY THING FUN AN USEFUL IS JUST CASTING THIS ON A 29TH LVL WIZARD AN WHATCH THEM ONE NUKE KILL THEMSELVES.
