<DIV>Ok I currently use "Death knell" spear to keep my piercing up and most of the time use my Prismatic sceptre</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I solo or duo mostly. Since they get rid of wiz on butlers was thinking of using my ironwood to have a wand made.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Does anyone out there use wands ? Am i wasting my money and should just sell it ?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I Like the idea of when i do group of beign able to do a little bit of damage without touching my mana that i use for ward , debuff etc.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have asked around and some people say get an divine based proc. But "anger" debuffs heat , cold , disease and poison and as my attacks are disease and cold i wonderd if i should go for one of those procs ?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any advice welcome</DIV>

I would say hold off on using your ironwood for anything. The tradeskill dev said this morning he was going to look into putting wis back on T6 bucklers since priests are the only ones that use them. <div></div>

Aren't wands like an 8 second, unbreakable cast time? I dunno - seems like an awful long time to be stuck casting a very mediocre damage spell.

I swear by the imbued wands for tiers 2-4, and heres why. 1) you can pull with them 2) you can wand kite for fun 3) you can use them when out of mana 4) the dmg rating on the legendary verisons is actually quite good compared to alot of the weapons in the same price range. Of course tier 5/6 fabled weapons would probable be better, but I find the wands are great for the casual gamer. Anhsor

You mean you can't hit x (sit) to cancel them ala totems/potions?Man, that is teh sux0r.<div></div>

I dunno about sit, my standard "cast break" is to jump. I have this hard coded aversion to sitting anywhere near a mob that I don't think I'll ever break. It's the old EQ mentality.

<P>I use wands as well: the damage rating isn't that bad, the stats are ok, the free cast spell is nice when you're oop and need to finish off that last mob, worst case scenerio drop on a hex of shadows snare and do some wand kiting. I've gone with fire wands tier 2 and 3 sofar just to compliment the disease/cold selection we get, no real issues I've seen esp with Cry of the Ancients.</P> <P>It is interruptable as well, just hit X twice quickly- it'll show the graphic of the nuke but breaks the casting right there.</P>

<P>Wow, never knew that I could cancel wand casts... greats info! Thanks!</P> <P>I'm only level 47 but use them on every single mob pull. I pull with ancients, HO the two dots, ward if necessary, wand then repeat until the mob is dead. Not the best dps, but I rarely have to wait for power regen. On grouped mobs I substitute nuke HOs for the wand. I don't see this strategy changing when I reach level 50, unless the nuke on the wand is terrible compared to my nukes.</P> <P>I've also had to level fast because I left the game for 8 months and wanted to catch up with the guild. So I have alot of grey heroics that I still need to kill for HQ. Since some of them actually hurt me I need to save mana for wards. I use the wand to do the damage so I can keep myself alive without going oom.</P> <P></P>

<DIV>You can also cancel the cast on any item including samirahs mirror by unequipping it.</DIV>

Hitting x twice in rapid succession (one to sit, one to stand back up) will cancel any ability I've ever come across (totems, wands, spells, combat arts).Once you train yourself to do it, it's not all that bad.I still use space to cancel most spells out of habit though.<div></div>
