Dinging lvl 48 and having 3 rares for spells(2 rubies maybe jewelry?) and not having any adept 3's from 40-50(all adept 1's) which ones would you guys/girls suggest? Do u have a link to pics of the spells so I can see the increase in potency from adept 1's to adept 3's?

Enlightened healing (was that the right one) for sure..your big blast heal. Rejuvenating chant was taken by lots of other folks but I never use it - I went with Group heal and Group Ward, after that I have Prohphecy, Runic Shield, Spirit of Elephant and Avatar. The buffs are OK but definitely go with big heal first.

My order of preference would go like this:

1) Ancestral Aegis (40) - Best first choice, period.

2) Umbral Ritual (42) - Would recommend Master 2 of this as your 44 choice, greatest HP gain over it's adept 3

3) Shadowy Attendant (44) - Our badger rocks now if you can get past the annoying sound of him healing

4) Enlightened Healing (46) - Primary direct heal

5) Rejuvenating Chant (43) - Secondary direct heal

6) Transcendant Blessing (42) - Group heal

7) Howl of the Ancients (40) - Because it's my lead spell for every fight

Beyond that, it's personal preference based on playstyle. If you solo a lot, upgrade your dots. If you group a lot, go for buffs/debuffs. It'd be wise to consider how soon certain spells will be upgraded (for instance, cold dot is upgraded at 51, ).

My 2cp.

---------------

Kanali - 54 Mystic - Steamfont

Message Edited by Kanali on 10-21-2005 02:04 PM

There are a number of considerations... 1) We are first and foremost priests, so gettting our two direct heals and ward upgraded beyond adept 1 is high priority. 2) Spells recieved at 47 and later do not recieve upgrades before 60. Therefore, you will be using those until the next expansion, which could be awhile since DoF came out just a little over a month ago.

If you are looking for longevity i would say go with those spells that are not going to get upgraded in the 50's. Waht did you take as your Master 2? If you did the single target ward then i would use the 3 rubies on spells 47+ like

Runic Talisman, Chimerik and Avatar.

Maybe even do Ursine Prophet and Dreadful lethargy if you get more rubies. All the other spells will be getting upgrades soon.

Yep solo ward is my Master 2, dinged 49 late last night so I'm out gathering as we speak for Rubies. That would make the most sence though, upgrading the spells that wont be upgradable Thanks again Mystics.

Well, I got lucky yesterday.Found a bunch of rares in ferrott. So I just checked that post about spells from 50-60 so now I know what is gonna be upgraded. Definatly getting avatar adept 3 for our guardian, if the step up from adept 1 is worth it...anyone know what the increase from Adept 1 to Adept 3 Avatar is? The badger....anyone know what amount this thing Adept 1 heals for? Its so crazy most of the time I cast him I dont know how much he is healing for. Anyone know what the step up from Adept 1 to Adept 3 badger is? Other than this I guess Ill just upgrade the spells that wont be upgraded 50-60. Also, does anyone have the numbers on an ironwood buckler? At lvl 48 I just got my ceder imbued shield(little late), but was just wondering if trading some tier 5 rares for an ironwood to make into a shield would be worth it.

Don't know about badger, but I would like to know as well. As for the shield, T6 bucklers don't have wis for some reason, but the tradeskill dev said he's lookin into it.

Wow, thats weird, no Wis? So the only shield we can use doesnt have the one stat that most of us strive for. They trying to make us not carry one? Cool, Avatar is definalty getting upgraded for me then, think the adept 1 is +44 so thats well worth it.

Like I said, the tradeskill dev said today that he is looking into getting wis put on bucklers since priests are the only folks that use them.

Yeah thats just odd, u would think the people behind the DOF thing, one person at least wouldve said, "How come the only shield that the priests can use no longer have Wisdom on them? Since the games release this has been thier only choice for a shield and now we dont even have thier most important stat on the newest shield, one that they all are gonna want."

They bit off more than they could chew with the combat revamp and DoF expansion at the same time. Lots of things that should have got done didnt. Just testing, I was so busy making sure priests weren't borked that I didnt pay any attention to crafting ((on live I have 3 T5 tradeskillers)) or test any of my other characters. Lots of recipes werent even remotely working until days before release, and I am talking major stuff like refining wood. So its not a huge suprise that T6 bucklers slipped under the radar. Perhpas it says something about thier method of testing, or about unrealistic demands being made upon the dev team by management.

Yeah, all the lvl 50+ provisioners have stopped crafting untill the tier 6 food is fixed. Seems like they needed a few more months on the rebalance..makes me wonder why they didnt wait until sometime near x-mas. Smooth things over and get the holiday rush. Unless they needed to get the expansion out on the shelves for some sort of end of year numbers game.

Its just kind of the way software is developed. Management (who knows next to nothing about code) assigns a project. Coders start work. About 20% into the project the management asks when it will be done. The coders make an estimate..."Somewhere between September and December." Management hears "It will definitely be done by September." Management waits until late July to tell the development team that "Everything is set up for a September release". Coders try to explain that the estimate was wrong and it will be November before its ready. Management says to prioritize and get it "good enough" by September. Coders scramble, decide that its more important to get the most used parts finished ( under 50 & combat revamp in this case) and fix the rest following release.

That gonna be my lvl 50 spell? If so a lvl 50 is a tier 5 rare correct?

Yes it is one of our level 50 spells. Great spell 1sec cast regenerating ward for very little mana (long recast and stifles thru duration) but its great for saving mages amongst other things.

Edit: Yes it takes a T5 rare as well.

Message Edited by paisan on 10-25-2005 03:17 PM

Yes, there are several more caveats to the process that I didnt go into. Like most programmers, I was attempting to save some typing. :smileyvery-happy:
