Complete the rather long and involved access quest to Poets Palace.
<DIV>Actually the quest only takes about 2hours or so.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Toobig</DIV>

Let it be noted that you can choose only Prophetic Aegis as the reward for completing Poet's Palace access, not the more useful other level 57 spell Rejuvenating Rite. <div></div>

Aegis of Faith is our free 57, and just because it's a Master doesn't mean it will see anymore use. 36 second resist buff to Arcane damage and a Arcane only damage ward with a 2 minute recast timer. Whooopppdeeeedoooo! To think it used to be a maintained buff and do this minus the measly ward!</span><div></div>

Other classes are getting nukes and attacks, we get crap that for most don't even make the hotbars.

It's likely that priests as a whole got stiffed with this master spell choice. Assuming we all get a more useful second level 57 spell, it'd be nice to make some noise about it in the event the devs actually listen and adjust this quest reward so at least those that have yet to complete the quest will get more mileage out of the spell they choose. While I'd love to get a.....refund if the rewards are adjusted, I'd sooner expect a nippy frost in hell. <div></div>

<P>Nerfed with latest patch. Now adept 1 spell.</P> <P>Kinda reminds me of when they nerfed lvl 50 spells and mystics could only laugh because oberon was crap at the time anyway.</P>

Devs said that Master 1 was never intended spell level for that quest, so it was a bug fix.

Looters know what they're doing is wrong (or so one would hope). In this case, I expect the people working on the quest had no clue the master level spell was a bug.</DIV>

Master spells have always been on the same tier as fabled. There has never been a quest that drops fabled, except for one of epic stature such as prismatics. We might have wanted to believe and pretended that it was meant to be but in our hearts i think everyone knew that an access quest would not drop a fabled piece... legendary MAYBE but fabled?

<P>I also never believed there would be a zone where I could get half a level of xp and 20gp worth of loot in under 2 hours solo. Things change, and if a quest gives you a master spell, we can only assume it's supposed to.</P>

<DIV>The quest is as long as most heritage, none of us thought it was a bug.</DIV> <DIV>In fact it seemed like a logical progression, where you get an adept1 for finishing the easier parts and a better reward for completion.</DIV>

I would guess most anyone calling this a short quest have found it to be so because they had detailed walk through notes. If you started this one early, without notes, starting with the first quest from zeke to get the mirror, tried to figure that out on your own or by talking with other players online, and then explored the zone and stumbled on these quests on your own or through consulting with guild members who are also working on it, you'd probably find as we did that its a incredibly long (and frankly some of the things you need to find spawn in multiple locations, only findable by those on the quest, have to spawned multiple times once per person working on it, under water, lots of running here and there and everwhere), well, it is only a short access quest because others have figured it all out and posted how. When the word got out that it rewards the player with a Master I drop that certainly seemed reasonable given the length and complexity of it. On the other hand it doesn't completely surprise me that Sony removed the reward because most that raced through it are have far more play time, or just raced through following walk through notes anyway. As it is now the Adept 1 reward is basically worth ~5g; worthless to a player that has the levels to finish this quest and use the reward (level 57!) because it is just one of many spells they need, and by the time they are level 57 they are likely to have found it anyway, or have had made the Adept 3 version. I'll retract that if its the only way to get the Adept 1 version of the spell, but if it drops anyway by the time you've ground level 57 you've probably seen it along with almost every other Adept 1 spell of yours. In retrospect we suspected they might nerf it. We should have just said screw it and race through using others notes before Sony nerfs the reward, but we were having fun trying to figure it out on our own. It's probably the attitude we should take in general while the expansion is young even though its really not ideal from the point of view the most immersive game experience. <div></div>

There's nothing wrong with being upset at this change, whether it's a "nerf" or whether it was fixed. Should people assume because the quest reward is actually decent that it's bugged or a sploit in some way? Um....no. The quest is rather involved, and I tend to agree that the master spell reward at the end made it seem....I dunno....more worthwhile to complete than if the reward was just another adept. You don't even need everyone keyed to enter Poet's anyway....the sole reason me and my friends completed the quest was to see the master reward. I was already 60 when I completed this with the help of a guildie who went thru the quest first, and I'd already had the adept of Prophetic Aegis as well. I'm sure I'll make good use of the spell down the road, but I feel for the folks that got stiffed. <div></div>
