View Full Version : Priests have increased damage capability - Has anyone seen it? I think that I missed that.

<b> Priest Changes</b> - Priests now have increased damage capability.That is cut & paste from LU #13 log. I have not noticed any increased damage capability. I am killing slower than before patch and my spells definately do not do more damage than before. Has anyone notice where that increased damage is supposed to be?<div></div>

Things I've noticed: AE DD is now a 12 second recast instead of 20. Our Flames line of DoT's puts out its damage almost twice as fast. This one is nice because alot of times in groups it wouldn't even be fully finished before a single mob was dead. I'm not saying they've made priest DPS uber, just sharing what I've noticed so far. <div></div>

<P>If we were supposed to be able to do more damage, why did they take the maul off our bear form spell? I have the bloody thing at master II, and yea it gives me a great health and strength bonus, but wheres my maul? It was a nice bonus attack and saved my hide more than once in a solo battle before LU13. I figured out my toon on most everything else, all the other changes. I am even working well with the Eidolic Mettle problem once i figured it out. As it turns out, warlocks have a simular buff, and my husband is a 44 warlock and we run together most times. we just told our usual tanks about the change, and they adjusted. only time i have seen the tank loose agro since was when the tank was a level 40. Once he adjusted to the renewed vigor of the mobs, he held agro too. so all in all my complaint is... WHERES MY MAUL ATTACK??? if we have "Increased damage", why'd ya take away some of the damage we already have? ok, im done now. /mini rant off</P> <P> </P> <P> </P>

It would be increased if the speed of solo killing would be faster, but now it is not.

The only increased damage I have noticed was an increase in my melee damage...the difference pre and post patch is significant. <div></div>

POX its now 24 instead 1min 10and your cold dot its 12 sec insted 1min 10 (grey wind i think)that's its very stupid to recast that spell every 12 sec with less damage<div></div>

With cold fire, it ticks more often now, to compensate for shorter duration. This is a GOOD thing. The only thing that annoys me is there is a slight delay between the time the cold dot wears off and you can cast it again. </span><div></div>

Currently L51, did a lot of solo action in Sinking Sands this weekend while working up my Maj'Dul court faction. How to kill a solo con, no arrow, white mob in 45 seconds: pre-pull Ward with AA Howl of the Ancients (pull) Auto Attack Chimerik Divine Providence Ire of the Gray Arctic Flames Ire of the Gray Divine Providence Pox Ire of the Gray Ancestral Aegis Divine Providence Ire of the Gray Arctic Flames Ire of the Gray Collect loot. hehe my melee damage is DEFINATLY way higher than it was before. I was hitting for 80-90 last night with berserker strength buffs going on the group.

I would be curious to know the differences XP wise from killing a yellow con solo mob vs a blue/white con under the new system. I wonder if the difference is even noticeable. <div></div>

Solo experience is just sad. I mean . . . really sad. Unless you have vitality it's not even worth talking about. Even with Vitality, it's barely anything.

My damage sucks with Pox Master 1, Ire of Grey Adept 3 & Icy Flames Adept 3. My Fury buddy said he has 2 spells that hit for 1000+ [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]. where is our damage????????????? <div></div>

Icy Flames Ad3 hits for about 750 on average (Arctic Flames, Ad 1 goes for about 850) . . . I can kill a white solo con, no arrow mob in around 40 seconds. If you want to do damage, roll a DPS class. We do damage on par with our NEED to do damage. We can solo, doing enough damage to kill the mob in a reasonable amount of time. In a group, our NEED to do damage drops to basically nil, and compared to those whose JOB it is to do damage, our damage is indeed negligible.

exactly what banditman said yes, we will never get solo exp as fast as other classes but no other class than priests (ok, maybe tanks) are having such an easy time getting a group for exp -> all evens out in the end. just irks me that i have no chance in a duel against a mage with his shadowy stalker <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

They also get group invis. They get real fast casting heals. They also cannot sustain healing over a group for a long time NEARLY as good as we can.</P> <P>They are exactly how a druid should be imo and sound like a REAL fun class to play. I also think they are the best second healer out there due to their burst and versatility with dps.</P>
