Ok, our group EB spell for shamans is great idea. I love it and I don’t want to see it changed much. Here is the problem though. I have EB up and we zone into the Living Tomb. If you haven’t been yet the place has allot of jump down into water spots. The first one is right at Zone in. I have EB up because I could and never canceled it after I tested it my group runs ahead since we had already been there and 1...2...3...4...5.. Half my group dies from falling damage the other half is at less than 200 hp. I am still at the top looking around when I see that I just killed my group. Everyone thinks that they somehow missed the water but I quickly inform them that I just killed them. Also cast this when your swimming and you will get falling damage. Lastly you do not have uber jump when you are underwater like you do with the buoyancy spell from the SP item, so getting out of the water is impossible unless you cancel the effect. Also it would be nice if the spell gave you under water vision sense you are now forced to walk underwater it would help greatly with seeing where you are going.

In short if you don’t like someone wait till they are jumping off a cliff into water, or if they are swimming cast the spell and kill them. This spell needs to be looked at soon!

Gustave

Nek. Yeah, unfortunately, this effect makes the spell completely undesirable to ever use. Also, I can see some people preferring to swim. Nice idea, but they should have just make it group EB and no extra effects. Or, better yet, group EB and clearer underwater vision like totem of the sea turtle.

I like the ability to walk because I fish a lot and it makes it easier. But I do see the problems with this spell. Hopefully they will change it.

noticed today that spirit of wiley coyote(aqueous spirit) was removed from my book dunno bout the group version(wasn't high enough), but the "lower level" group EB got changed to a zero concentration until cancelled type from the 15 minute duration that it was yesterday, this was not announced on any of the patch notes but i guess i can live without the spell anyway. just hope they replace the water splat EB with something useful and not another freaking EB spell, cause the 2 we got now are fine

Lol, I killed myself with this last night. In no means should it change though. This is a great buff for us! It allows our parties to opperate in watery areas without impunity.. unless they jump off cliffs

If you cast it on someone else they get a pop up asking them if they want to accep the buff.

Does the pop up explain that it will kill you should you try to jump in some deep water?

Kyin, the same thing happened to me in the same zone. They jumped, they hit the water, they died. Lesson learned but I'd prefer to have my old EB spell back. Let them do the Splitpaw quest if they want an item that let's you walk under water.

:smileyvery-happy: Actually, at first I hated it, but then I ended up dying in the bay of anuk. I haven't retrieved my shard yet, but the fact that I could run and sprint down there like on land almost makes this worthwhile...

lol ya...had a close call when solo testing that spell before group usage, something i like do'n before placen others at risk. did try play'n a dirty rat an killing someone by casting it on another person i wasnt grouped with that was spamming /ooc for someone to give him a eb buff, when i learned at that same moment we can now finally HELP buff an heal others with out group... god what a moronic dev, to create a social game but make it so anti social in limiting users to (all cept rez pretty much at the start) group only.

Well I killed myself and my group with this, although not through falling damage. In shifting sands (or whatever the first DoF zone is) we were heading out to one of the islands. I had the buff on myself and forgot to cancel it when I got in the group.Well ... you know where most of the agro mobs are? Down at the bottom. So we managed to agro half the darned sea because we were walking on the bottom and not swimming across the top. Needless to say I have yet to cast it again.

I have both spell types. Regular EB (which is single target only - meaning I have to cast it multiple times to cover everyone) and fall to the bottom EB (group cast). Are you guys saying you only have one version of the spell for your class - or are you just not of a level to have the other spell yet?

I was looking for the Guppy and proceeded to jump of the Docks in EL with this spell on me. Only to find my avatar dropped like stone to splat at the bottom of the sea. I had a good laugh over it but this only seems useful if you like to walk into the water - jumping in off docks & cliffs is half the fun :smileyvery-happy:

Mystic Cliff Diver of Oasis :smileywink:

On the plus side it makes gathering DoF collection items at the bottom of the ocean easier to get.

The spell could be fixed so that it decreases your bouyancy just enough to cause you to fall to the bottom slowly (assuming the game's physics engine takes into consideration your speed when hitting the ground). That would let players walk underwater, and slowly fall to the bottom, without having them sink to the bottom like rocks. Right now it's as if the water isn't even there.
